"The pictures show a beautiful pool, a sauna, and a gorgeous view. These are the reasons we booked this hotel but they don’t exist. It’s completely false advertising. I reached out to the hotel to ask where the pool and sauna were and they told me they had a connection to gyms up to 5km away. The room was very well facilitated but if you book based on the amenities in the pictures you will be ripped off."

"I stayed here for 11 nights in August 2025 with my family, and the experience was far below the “premium” standard advertised. The shower button was non functional and kept falling off. Lighting was so dim that evenings were uncomfortable, yet Homing refused to fix it, saying the owner “doesn’t want to”. At check-in, we received an inadequate number of towels for three guests over 11 nights, and only after repeated requests did they finally bring more, something that should have been done...

"Room smells so bad, like a mold (i think it was the bed). we couldn't but heater on because the smell was going stronger and we had to sleep all our clothes on. I've had a really bad allergy and headache after being in that room, so we had to leave that room after one night. we would not have stayed there, but it was new years eve and every other place was full booked. I called the lady who showed us the room and told the problem, she was nice and polite, so i really hope they will do something...

"There is a very narrow staircase to second floor that was hard to take baggage up. Constant noise from within apparently and outside, every time you open Faust a loud noise appears, bed. Wry uncomfortable and not enough space on the second floor to even stand, you need to crawl to the bed extremely hot and when leave window open mosquitoes had party on my body. Both nights I did not sleep at all. One good thing was Santos station was walking distance to take to beaches. Oh another thing...

Top Estrela Hotel Reviews

Inspira Santos Boutique Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Good location without being in a busy area, clean, helpful staff, and good breakfast. Had a maintenance issue that was taken care of. Small room but worked ok. I would stay again."

Garam Lisboa

10/10 Excellent

"This is a great place to stay especially if you are an Expedia VIP. Lovely neighborhood with authentic restaurants - the staff gives great recommendations. Breakfast will last you till dinner easily. VIPs get free drinks which were a Port and Cherry liquor, both unique and delicious. Great peaceful outside area — highly recommended"

Cheese & Wine Suites

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay at Cheese and Wine Suites was the last leg of our tour through Spain and Portugal. It was a perfect ending to a really great trip. From the moment we arrived we got a good feeling from our welcome at the reception desk. We were shown to our spacious and well appointed room and then briefed on all the services available. This included what turned out to be an excellent breakfast served by a friendly and attentive staff. This boutique hotel is in such a wonderful location that we never even needed to call a taxi to visit all the nearby sites of Lisbon. We were able to walk everywhere without problems. At the end of our stay, we had an early flight and even though we had to leave before breakfast was served the staff prepared us a lovely take along breakfast so that we wouldn’t miss out! It was delicious. If you are visiting Lisbon, this is the place to stay."

Palacio Ramalhete

8/10 Good

"We stayed on the top floor under the roof. The room had air conditioning, but unfortunately, the bathroom did not. The showerhead was also installed quite low, making it uncomfortable for my husband, who is 6’1”, to shower. One unique feature was the old-fashioned, heavy room key. Be sure not to lose it, as the hotel charges €300 for a replacement! Overall, these are a few things worth noting for future guests, and improving the bathroom comfort would make the stay more enjoyable."
