Amazing cabin

This is our second time staying at a cabin in Saddlewood, but the first time at Cliffside. The cabin was amazing, comfy, and sized perfectly for us. We would definitely book again whenever we go back to Boone/Ferguson.

Perfect little getaway

Great little mountain getaway.

We had such a lovely stay at this property. The sunset views off the deck were wonderful! Everything was clean and cozy. Kitchen well stocked, beds comfortable, and the home was very welcoming. Leatherwood is a beautiful community. We would love to stay again!!

Great place to relax with a beautiful view!

Great location on the mountain. Relaxing in the jacuzzi while taking in the view was amazing. The cabin was adorable, clean, and cozy. The hiking trails were close by with multiple paths to explore. This is truly a great place to unwind!

Relaxing Getaway

We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend to escape the city and it’s just what we were looking for! The views at this cabin are perfect for sipping a cup of coffee in the morning. The cabin is in the best neighborhood that feels secure and has lots of amenities for the family!

A Great Stay

My wife, puppy and I had a great stay! The place was clean and the view are gorgeous. The hot tub was nice as well! We will be back!

Highly Disappointing - description does not match at all! Pay more, go else where.

Our stay at Cliffside was truly not what we anticipated. We booked two nights with plans to stay in and relax while enjoying the described amenities; however, what we received for the money spent was nothing that was described in the posting. 1) The entire cabin has a distinct smell of urine (specifically upstairs bedroom and bathroom) and was otherwise unclean. 2) The throw blankets had dried food stuck to it (grains of rice). 3) The indoor gas fireplace did not work. 4) The ad lists complimentary gourmet coffee and a bottle of wine. There was neither of these included. 5) There was only 1 clean towel for the hot tub available, and the hot tub was visibly dirty (with several broken pieces). 6) The Roku tv in the main living room did not work properly. It kept turning off after 60 secs. We finally had to stream it from our phones. 7) Both beds were terribly uncomfortable. I have stayed in sever VRBOs over the last 5 years and this was by far the most disappointing rental property I’ve experienced. Otherwise, the property was very quiet and private.

Beautiful Place!

We really enjoyed our stay! The area around the cabin had beautiful views and we saw lots of deer and turkey. The restaurant was excellent as well.

Peaceful & relaxing

This was a very quiet cabin in the mountains! This property is about 16 miles north east of Wilksboro. Keep in mind if you need anything from a store you will have to go back to Wilksboro which will take you about 40 minutes from the cabin. The cabin was clean, the views were amazing and it was quiet. The bed in the master was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on away from home! The hot tub was great and the road to the cabin was accessible with our SVU. We will definitely be back! But next time I will bring a few cleaning supplies as the cabin didn’t have any and we did have the stomach bug while we were there (which I’m sure we brought with us from family gatherings over Christmas from great nephews and niece). Overall it was great to sit on the back porch as it was warm (60-70’s).

Gorgeous Views

Such a beautiful view and cozy cabin. All the comforts of home with spectacular views of the mountains. The area had lots of trails and everyone was so friendly. It was truly a wonderful week spent in the mountains. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

Great property!

Great experience, wonderful experience. We recommend staying here if you want a peaceful setting. Better to visit Boone or Blowing Rock on way into town or when leaving, cabin is in a beautiful remote setting

Early Spring Getaway

Property was as advertised. Two huge bedrooms with comfortable living room and full size kitchen. Beautiful view of the mountains but not of the neighbors. Spacious deck with full size hot tub with view of the mountains. Exceptionally clean and full size well stocked kitchen. New grill that works like a charm. ****Recommendation to anyone staying at this property. Follow the directions provided by the hosts and do not follow your navigational system. We followed the host directions to the property with no problems. We decided to follow the navigation system for our trip to Blowing Rock, you know because it would be fun driving through the mountains. Bad mistake. Ended up on a single lane wet dirt road that was on the side of a mountain with no trees to stop us if we slid off the road. Multiple 180 degree switch backs around blind curves. Longest three miles of our lives. Took us over a half hour to go three miles. Luckily we had a 4-wheel drive truck or we would still be on that road. Otherwise a very relaxing few days.

Hot tub getaway

Getting to the area was a little tricky in rain and fog at night, there is no state road sign to the Leatherwood community. The property was sweet, and they even left 2 buck chuck and fresh oranges upon our arrival. The view is apparently one of the best on the mountain. It was a much needed respite for us!

A short getaway

Cliffside at Leatherwood was the only place I could find for my husband and I for a short getaway. I had been ill until recently and wanted a place with a hot tub that also allowed our little dog. Please be aware that 4:00 check-in is not one minute earlier. The place is very pretty but it is a gated community. On our directions map to the cabin, I did not see the written instructions in the back of the page and went just with the map. It was not easy to find! We actually made a wrong turn on a gravel road that just about took my heart away. When we got out of that road, we stopped and asked directions from another house. So, do read those directions. The place itself is very nice. Everything you need is there. Also, there are hikes you can do on this very large horse community. The tv/sat could use better instructions. It was hard to figure out and you don’t get regular channels. I’m an avid Jeopardy fan so I missed those. The sun doesn’t hit the house until late afternoon and we felt a chill the first day and tried to turn the fireplace on to no avail. The office was closed already and I tried calling and texting the maintenance person but did not get a response. Also, please be aware that there are A LOT of stink bugs and even with the doors and windows closed, they find their way in: in the kitchen, upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The hot tub was nice and the upstairs shower has great pressure and good, hot water.

Wonderful cabin

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is really cozy, private, the view from the porch and hot tub is wonderful. The cabin was very clean and inviting. We will return there soon.

Review of Cabin

We really enjoyed Leatherwoods Mounttains Resort. The cabin, however, needed a lot of updating. It was clean enough, but really needs a lot of TLC. The couch fabrics were falling apart, the walls were significantly marked up and the ceilings in a couple of places looked like there was a leak. What a shame that the property owner is not taking care of this property. Location is beautiful and we enjoyed the resrt itself.
