Easily accessible via paved roads and a circular driveway, this classic NC cabin offers eye-level vistas through large windows that fill the great room, dining area, kitchen, and loft with natural light and long-range views. A wood-burning fireplace adds warmth and charm to the spacious main living area. The main level features two cozy bedrooms and a full bathroom. Upstairs, the open loft includes a queen suite, game table balcony, and a second full bath—comfortably accommodating up to seven guests. Throughout the cabin, natural wood elements abound, with hardwood floors, log furniture, and knotty pine walls that stretch to the vaulted ceiling. Step outside to the large front porch or unwind in the outdoor hot tub while soaking in the stunning scenery. Inside, guests enjoy modern comforts like fiber optic TV, Wi-Fi, and thoughtful extras such as a propane grill, a stocked game shelf, and handcrafted iron puzzles. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, play ground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals). Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. We booked this cabin last minute for the Labor Day weekend and overall we were happy with it! Gorgeous area and common areas of the resort were well kept. Our house was clean overall and what we expected. Only callouts are that the small yard and drive were unkempt and need some light work done (weed eater mostly). The dishwasher also does not work (doesn’t seem to have pressure or something to actually clean what’s in it), though it does run. There’s a rusty nail in it too that we think may have been used as a homemade attempt to fix it somehow. We would definitely stay at this resort again but would try to get a different so we didn’t have to spend time washing dishes. The hot tub is also detached from the home which would have been nice to know ahead of the trip.
