It's close to restaurants and shops, so you don't have to walk far to buy food. The breakfast is quite good. Our triple room on the top floor is very spacious, with 2 sofas and a table. There was some problem with the toilet but the staff fixed it quickly. The only criticism is that the toilet facilities could have been improved, for example, the toilet seat is much smaller than the toilet bowl, so it's not very comfortable to sit on. There's some broken glass on the edge of the shelving unit which could be dangerous for children. The rooms are pretty basic. The staff are nice. Only complaint is that we could hear everything in the room next to us once someone moved in on the second day. I would have also appreciated a comfortable venue after nearly 18 hours of constant flights and connections under my belt. The Perla Hotel satisfied both conditions. My room was furnished with a television, bathroom, street view window and air conditioner. This seems like a excellent base from which to stay a couple days after arriving by train and then maybe transfer to a hostel in the Medina, if that activity is in someone´s eventual plans. This is an especially good venue for individuals with heavy luggage, with taxi rides costing less than 40 DHM - $4\. I visited the old Medina with its attactions and the israelian zone.
