"Nice historic building right in the centre of town"

"This was another return visit to this wonderful warm and friendly pub/hotel. This time i was accompanied with my daughter/we came up up to celebrate my friend's birthday and celebrate my daughters acceptance to University. As before the rooms we had were clean and comfortable the staff were helpful/friendly and the whole evening was brilliant. Truth be told we came up for the fantastic food served at the restaurant-we all had steak which was perfectly done and dessert-was definately worth the short ish journey up from Essex. What better than having a nice meal then stopping over for the night and back in the morning ..this place is perfect for that. There are plenty of rooms to cater for a large family or a solo traveller. I said i would return last time here....and will again...Great value for money. A great short gettaway was had by us all. A decent breakfast also considering its included in your stay. "
