Lovely large hotel with beautiful grounds, surrounded by coconut trees, the beach cabanas, pool area are nice.
Room is period colonial, it could with upgrading the rooms, the tv was small and not digital so unable to watch any apps of my own and there was only one English language movie channel that wasn’t very clear.
Whilst the rooms are large and spacious especially the beach villas, it’s not what I would call a five star hotel, as staff and property lack the professionalism, to provide a five star service, the sheets and towels are clean but constantly stained but this is not the first hotel in the Gambia, where this happens. whilst I was there.
I also contracted a tummy bug from the food at the hotel, the hotel management were not very helpful in this regard. I was only asked by one of the duty managers at checkout about my experience and investigation made. Overall it’s a period property the grounds and individual members were lovely and friendly, however I would not stay here again.
