Experience a truly unforgettable stay at this secluded and private retreat in the woods! The Treehouse is mostly bordered by the Nantahala National Forest - you're not able to see any neighbors, except in the winter when the trees are bare. This is the perfect retreat for families and friends. You will love relaxing in the swing on the covered porch with a steamy cup of coffee in the mornings or a thrilling novel with a glass of wine in the afternoon. The firepit, another great gathering spot, offers the opportunity to hang out with your loved ones and tell fun or scary stories while listening to the creek below and looking at the mountain view.

Inside this darling home, you will find an inviting, beautifully decorated, comfortable open great room with a large window with a view of the mountains. The walls and ceiling are knotty pine and soar 16 feet high for that wonderful lodge feel. There is a large leather sofa and two swivel rockers for relaxing while watching the 55' flatscreen TV with cable. The kitchen is well appointed with all you need to make meals for the whole family, granite countertops, microwave, dishwasher, glass-top stove, convection oven, and antler chandelier. There is a Keurig coffee maker that will brew a 12 cup pot or individual pods. The kitchen and dining areas are finished off with bar seating and a dining table under another antler chandelier. Also on the first floor is a sleeping porch with a wall of windows looking towards the view with two beds, a large primary bedroom, and a full bathroom. Upstairs you will find a second bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.

Mountain house

Beautiful home in the mountains Had issues with whomever takes care of the interior 2 rolls of toilet paper for us for almost a week stayLight bulbs burnt out and missing Ceiling fan could not turn off Toilet tank valve kept running until I was able to physically work around this problem Upon arrival trash container was overflowing from previous visitors and the cleaning crew didn’t bother to remove it Outside deck furniture and tables hadn’t been cleaned and pollen dust and leaves were still on them

Home Away From Home!

This is my second stay at the Treehouse. My daughters treated me to a long weekend retreat at this home with them on Mothers Day. I fell in love with this comfortable home and decided to plan a mini vacation with my husband. We both enjoyed our stay once again in this lovely home.

Very comfortable getaway!

The setup was exactly what we wanted, big enough to fit our family of 4 but cozy enough so we could all hang out while we were in the cabin. Everything in good working order and the kitchen was perfect for what we wanted. Will definitely be back here! Location was also great!

Great Little Weekend Trip

We absolutely loved this house. The house was well stocked with everything you would need for the kitchen and bathrooms as well. Plenty of towels and extra blankets. We loved the deck, great view and the fire pit area was a total hit. The house is located close to everything we wanted to do and see. Highly recommend this house to any family and I hope to visit again soon.

Serenity

The Treehouse is amazingly peaceful!! It’s situated right on the mountain in the middle of the national forest. The amenities are plentiful and the beds are comfortable. The view is amazing and the steps going down to the creek in the middle of the mountain is so serene!!! Make sure to go Gem Mining at Sheffield Mine!

Birthday cabin weekend

This was a lovely place for a weekend getaway in the mountains, even better than the pictures and one of my favorite trips to NC! We had good weather, but the driveway is fairly steep and may be difficult to get up in the snow without a 4-wheel drive car. Unrelated to the property, but in the winter, restaurants in nearby towns like Highlands have very limited hours or are closed, so check ahead! Overall, the trip was amazing, thanks so much!

Peaceful

Very comfortable home to stay in. Plenty of room and furnished with everything you need. This home is so peaceful and quiet. A beautiful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing the beautiful mountains. The home is very well maintained. Only negative, the king size bed was very hard and uncomfortable. One side was broken down and we had to avoid sleeping in the hole on that side.

Nice house and secluded which I like.

Started off bad because lockbox code given me didn't work and I had no cell phone service but once I was able to call vacasa, they gave me another code to open lockbox and remainder of my stay was great.

Idyllic home for Week Long Stay in the Mountains

Views from the porches are amazing. It is idyllic from the way the tree frames the view of the mountains as you rock on the porch swing to the lit stairway going to the creek below where you can read in a secret haven on an old stone bench. The kitchen has everything you need and even items you never imagined you would need. We sleep on the sleeper porch with a view of the moon and stars. This is our second time staying here and won't be the last. We also loved visiting the local Tessentee Baptist church which is close by. Sweet people.

Worth the ride up.

The treehouse is worth the ride up the mountain. Read all the reviews about the road so we knew what to expect. A little daunting on the gravel road but when you get to the concrete driveway and there is room to turn around it is fine. The kitchen has all the equipment you need and some spices. It’s great to sit on the porch and have your coffee in the morning. We got there with dinner to cook for the first night and breakfast items. They aren’t kidding when they say get there in the daylight. Would definitely stay there again.

Peace & Quiet

The property was even better than expected. Fully stocked kitchen with anything you need to prepare a meal, tons of outdoor spaces, beautiful views, absolute peace. There were games and books to read, fun decor, tons of blankets, dvds, and just everything you could think you’d want at a cabin getaway. The ONLY downsides- the telescope requires an app to use and you can’t use the app if you don’t have the code for the telescope, the fireplace isn’t working currently (but that is clearly stated), and the address is listed as Franklin (and falls under Highlands rentals as well) but it’s 30 minutes to Franklin & 45 minutes Highlands so be careful when booking. If you need to be close to either Franklin or Highlands, this may not be the place for you. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway far away from neighbors, stores, etc, this is for you. We truly loved it, just wished it was a little closer to the city centers.

The treehouse was as described in the online listing. We enjoyed the view and time spent on the wrap-around porch when the sun was out and the covered porch to listen to the rain and enjoy the string of lights in the evening. The location is secluded and extremely peaceful. Overall, the house was clean. However, there was a water bottle left on the porch and when I was looking behind furniture in the room with the telescope trying to find the switch for the string of lights, I found paper, a tissue, and a tampon, which was thankfully still in its wrapper. It would be helpful to provide instructions for how to turn the string of lights on. It wasn't obvious, even after reaching out to the management company. However, the biggest complaint was the check-in process. After driving 6 hours straight, we arrived at dusk and in the rain, looking forward to settling in and relaxing. However, the key pad to unlock the door didn't work. The lengthy description and additional troubleshooting steps provided should have been a clue that it would be difficult. Both my teenage daughter and I tried entering the provided code at least a dozen times. I tried to call the 800 number provided for assistance, but there was no cell phone service at the house. So, we drove several miles down the road to where we did have service. I called again and was on hold for 15 minutes with no help. Luckily, help was responsive when I texted and we were able to get in the house by alternate means.

The property itself was very nice and well appointed. However the drive to the house is a gravel, bumpy, steep, one lane "road". Because of that we left early. If I don't even want to think about if there was an emergency. Also - the telescope was a huge fail, as there were no instructions, and thus unusable.
