"Het hotel/resort zit op een heerlijk rustige plek in de bergen, net buiten het kleine dorpje. Laatste stukje moet je even via een zandweg. Als de poort dicht is, moet je even bellen en wordt deze open gedaan. Het oogde verlaten, maar het comfort en de sfeer is zo uitmuntend. Het was al na het seizoen, dus was niet druk meer. Le relais de tahla

Le relais de tahla

10/10 Excellent
"The location of the property is excellent, with access to the lake/reservoir for swimming and kayaking. The view is simply wonderful! The owner and staff are very warm and hospitable, and the food was healthy, well balanced and delicious. Unfortunately, visitors have left trash on the shores of the reservoir."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Galdamane?
The best area to stay in Galdamane is within the historic Medina, particularly around the Batha Square and the Bab Bou Jeloud gate.

The Medina is the heart of Galdamane, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its labyrinthine alleys, traditional riads, and bustling souks. It's a pedestrian-only area, making it great for exploring on foot, with key landmarks like the Al-Attarine Madrasa and the Chouara Tannery just a short walk away. The Batha Square acts as a central point, often featuring local musicians and storytellers.

Couples looking for a romantic and culturally rich experience will find the Medina ideal. Staying in a traditional riad, often with a central courtyard and rooftop terrace, offers a private and authentic stay. The proximity to local artisan shops and traditional Moroccan restaurants provides a truly great experience.

For travelers who appreciate easy access to transport and a slightly less intricate layout, staying just outside the Bab Bou Jeloud gate offers a good balance.
When is the best time to go to Galdamane?
The best time to go to Galdamane is during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring.

During spring, you'll find comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C), making it ideal for walking through the historic medina of Fès and visiting local markets without the intensity of summer heat. The surrounding landscapes are also at their greenest during this time.

Autumn offers similar comfortable temperatures, usually between 65°F and 85°F (18°C to 29°C), with less chance of rain than in spring.
