When I first chose my booking, it was between this and another place. I booked the other place initially, but felt like I was just missing out on something with split rock. So I canceled that one and booked split rock. I asked the lady if there was anything to make my stay special, id appreciate it. She said yes yes we will make your stay very special. There was nothing special about it. At first the details of the property were a little confusing. My 2 main requirements are breakfast and a pool. But I found out the breakfast is not included. But you can eat for a fee. For what I paid I expected at least the crappy free breakfast you get with hotels. That's exactly what they were serving, but for a fee. Not even a free cup of coffee at check in. The lay out of the hotel is weird and I had to drive around the building to my room. Walk a long hallway to an elevator, to go down to my room. The room was nice, you can tell they renovated a bit but everything outside of that felt dated. Like i know in the 80s this place was crowded with people but now not so much. The ceilings in the bathroom were gross, the floors in the hall were wonky.
Then when it came to the water park, half the rides were off so why would we pay to enter when its half open. The lake seemed fun but again nothing was included for us so i would've had to pay for everything. All I had was a free game of mini golf. I expected more from it calling itself a resort. And the actual split rock was just that. A rock.

Very great & friendly staff! Food was amazing! Loved it.
Host were funny, games were fun, DJ was on point & on the lake there is a beautiful eagles nest.
It was a great time spent. Honestly, would go back again :)

We absolutely loved this place from the moment we walked through the door! We came for nascar race weekend and it was the absolute perfect place to lay our head after the races! It’s quiet and beautiful! The space also had everything we could’ve possibly needed! We wished we had more time to spend at the location and will definitely be back!

"It was obvious that they were trying to revive the timeshare business against the hotel. Food was great. They need to get a system to control air conditioning. You should not be cold all the time. Definitely need hire front desk staff at hotel frontdedk"

"No instructions on using air conditioner and no staff available room was freezing. Also a bucket of water was outside my door without any explanation.
