Galtür Vacation Packages

Feel energized by the fresh alpine air as you enjoy adventure sports and food festivals amid the natural beauty of the Paznaun Valley.

Framed by the Silvretta mountain range, Galtür is a gateway to a range of outdoor pursuits in both summer and winter. Skiers and snowboarders come for the good snowfall and groomed slopes. When the weather warms, the valley is covered in a carpet of brilliant green and the mountains open for hikers, climbers and bike riders.

The family-friendly Silvapark mountain resort is open from December to April. It has 25 miles (40 kilometers) of ski runs. Discover areas suitable for alpine and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowboard racing. Kids can have fun at the specially designed Zwergerlwelt (Kid’s World) while snowboarders hone freestyling talents at the Activity Park.

Make use of the Ski Bus, a free bus service that connects Galtür with other ski areas in the Paznaun Valley. It’s available to anyone with a valid ski pass.

In the summer, Galtür offers easy walks, challenging hikes and mountain biking. Across Silvapark and around the village are around 155 miles (250 kilometers) of trails. Walk to the Sonnenkogel and Jamtalferner viewpoints. Join thousands of walking enthusiasts for the annual Silvretta-Ferwallmarsch organized hikes. Thrill-seekers might want to try bouldering, canyoneering, climbing and white-water rafting.

Time your visit to coincide with cultural events such as Culinary St. Jacob’s Way. This event features celebrity chefs creating Tirolean-inspired dishes at restaurants reached via scenic walking routes. Sample cheese made by Austrian, German and Swiss cheesemakers at the International Cheese Olympics.

During your stay, include a visit to the village museum, Alpinarium Galtür. Learn about the history of Galtür and its encompassing mountains, including an avalanche that devastated the town in 1999. Find boutiques, cafés, hotels and restaurants as you wander the village’s streets. Take a moment to marvel at the village’s fairytale-like setting and postcard-perfect natural surroundings.

Take advantage of the Silvretta Card, which offers summer discounts and free access to cable cars, lifts and public transportation.

Galtür sits on the southern edge of the Paznaun Valley, where the Tirol and Vorarlberg regions meet. Reach the village by public trains and buses; it’s a 90-minute drive from Innsbruck. Consider renting a car and enjoy the drive along Silvretta High Alpine Road, a spectacular mountain pass of multiple twists and turns that connects Galtür with Bielerhöhe.
