We liked the hotel, but our original room ac wasnt working. We contacted the desk and they sent up maintenance. The maintenance man was very nice, vut said that the ac was old and small, and wasnt going to get better. He brought us a box fan, and we tried to makenit work. It was a very hot and uncomfortable night, unfortunately. In the morning, i walked down to the desk and expressed my concerns, and a new room was given to us. It had the same small, old ac. It took a while for the room to cool off, but it eventually did cool off, thankfully.

For the price and location I felt that it was a solid deal. Only complaint I’d say I had would be the wait times for the elevator. Not sure if it was programmed poorly and didn’t alternate from the two but it took quite a while to be able to get onto one. But besides that we enjoyed the hotel. Beds were clean and comfy. Pool was refreshing. Nice views of the creek and close walk to everything. Furthest we had to walk was 15 mins to the other side of town.

There are lots of lodging choices in Gatlinburg and I highly recommend choosing one on River Rd. Being off "the strip" or Hwy 441 will save you lots of headaches from the impossible parking and traffic. We chose the Edgewater to be close to the center of town but didn't realize just how smart of a move that was until we got there. We enjoyed walking to the restaurants and finding everything we wanted quickly including bears! On each night of our stay bears were found on the water in front of the property splashing and searching for food while we enjoyed viewing them from a safe distance and from above. The way the hotel is situated allowed for us to enjoy the wildlife without feeling threatened by them. This alone was almost worth the price of what our hotel offered: horribly loud air conditioning, strong mildew odor in the room from years of humidity that was never removed with a dehumidifying system, a TV that was difficult to browse, decor everywhere that is stuck in the past, tiny pools and workout amenities, slow elevator service, and impossibly tight parking spots. Most of our time was spent hiking so we needed to leave early in the morning. We loved how close Gatlinburg was to all the trailheads inside the national park. It allowed us to secure parking and to beat the crowd on the weekend we were there. But you should consider Pigeon Forge for a better overall experience as they have more entertainment options and free and easier parking.

Comfy bed, great breakfast, nice swimming and hot tub areas. There’s an outdoor fire pit we didn’t try, but it looked fun. Short walk to downtown, the SkyPark lift, and Trolley. Staff was courteous and accomodating. We will return to Gatlinburg and we will stay here again.

Parking in parking garage was rough. Small spaces for vehicles. However plenty of parking. Elevator service was terrible. Plan on waiting 5-10 min no matter the time of day. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean- but look closer and you see things- the air conditioning was covered by plywood boxes in the room. The drop ceiling in bathroom was warping, and starting to get discolored. Bathrooms were very clean, but very small. Sit on toilet- be careful not to hit your head on robe hook on door. Room and beds very clean, beds soooo uncomfortable. Great to have a free breakfast, but incredibly busy for mediocre food.
