Great location, typical breakfast - the hotel needs updating, shower / bathroom diffidently showing its age. But the room was very clean, hotel was walking distance to anything in town

Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was kind, accommodating. Breakfast buffet had lots of choices and was restocked quickly. On the negative side , our balcony did look out at the side of a mountain, but the dumpsters and staff smoking area was right there,too. There were some unpleasant odors around the elevator and parking garage but maybe due to ongoing maintenance work? Overall, happy with our stay.

Overall, great stay at Edgewater. Would definitely consider staying again. We stayed in mid-April when crowds were fairly light so we didn’t really encounter some of the issues others have had with the hotel such as slow elevators or parking issues. Parking is a little tight as others have stated, but I was able to park my mid-size truck without any major issues on the main parking level. Maybe it’d be a bigger issue if it was packed but I still think it’d be fine. I parked next to a pillar so I knew at least one side I’d have more space. Pros: - Can’t beat the location. It’s a block off the main drag, but right in the middle of everything. You have relative quiet being off the main drag while still being well within walking distance of the middle of Gatlinburg. - Views are great from the riverside rooms. Definitely recommend spending a few extra dollars for a riverside room. - Breakfast was good. Same items each morning but it was good as far as hotel breakfast goes. - Pool is nice along with 2 hot tubs. Cons: - It is an older hotel and does show its age. Although it seems that improvements are being made if staying in a hotel that isn’t shiny and new is an issue for you then maybe look elsewhere but you’ll probably spend more $$ and not have as good of a location. - Bathrooms were small and show some age. Again, not a big deal myself but may be for someone. - Beds were a little noisy. Nothing major and didn’t really affect my sleep.

Very nice staff and facility, hard to keep properties this nice and clean with the heavy tourist traffic they get. Good and free parking, right in downtown Gatlinburg so easy walking everywhere.

For a 3 star hotel, the rooms are getting dated. Over humid, dewy, and an odor. Staff was excellent. Pool was excellent. Fire pit need an external flame to lite. Breakfast is good.

Staff was great, building needs major update, elevator slow, bathroom faucet broke in 1st room, toilet barely flushed in 2nd. Helen Keller put new tub in 2nd room, horrible fit & finish, spot for shower didn’t engage all the way. A/C didn’t cool good & loud

Great Easter weekend. Only complaint is the elevators are slow but when your on vacation ya just need to slow down and go with it and have fun elevator chats with everyone. The location is great. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. Perfect for a mountain getaway. Being right on the river is nice.

We loved the location of this hotel. That was the best part because we could walk anywhere in downtown Gatlinburg with ease. We appreciated the parking although it is very tight and a bit difficult to maneuver. We appreciated that it seemed they were updating areas of the hotel but the only ice machine was on floor 5 because of the construction. The beds were not comfortable and you could feel the springs in them when you laid down. The furniture in the main lobby was worn which was my first inclination that the hotel wouldn’t be super updated. They don’t give you new towels each day or clean up your room until checkout.The staff seemed friendly and helpful.

This is a good location to stay if you don’t want to drive much. Rooms are clean but bed was little to hard for us. Balcony was nice to sit on and watch people and traffic. Employees were nice and helpful.

The hotel is conveniently located if your plans include the National Park and the town of Gatlinburg. However, the facilities are older and a little run down. The town itself reminded us of Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls, Canada, with lots of souvenir stores and kitschy places if that’s what you’re looking for. Our kids enjoyed the pool. We typically prefer newer hotels. We chose this place for it’s proximity to the National Park.

There were only 2 elevators for the hotel that serviced the hotel and the parking garage. There was always a long wait to use the elevator. Otherwise nice, clean place and would stay again if the elevator situation was ever remedied.

This is an older hotel so don't expect perfection, but it is clean and quiet and the service members were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good too and free! Loved the little balcony to sit at. You can walk up the block and you are on the main road where all the shops are.
