The Albus is a charming little "Boutique" hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. It is centrally located, making it easy to reach most spots tourists like to visit. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet which was a plus considering that it was completely full with no vacancies.
Our room was small, without any dresser drawers causing us to live out of our suitcases for 6 days, 5 nights. There was a lockbox in the closet where we could lock up our passports during our stay. There was one chair for the two of us, and a small table holding a nespresso machine with pods and cups. The bed filled the room so that one would have to "skootch" our way between the wall (that held a big screen tv) and the bed to get to the other side where the chair was and my suitcase. My husband's suitcase was in the standing closet. The shower had good water pressure, but it was impossible to use the wand without holding it because it would turn to the wall and miss you entirely! of course, there is a "rain head" shower head, but we personally don't like water coming straight down on top of us.
We liked the Albus, but it was also expensive to stay there at $427.00 per night including the city tax, VAT and whatever fees. However, everything these days is expensive, and don't know if you can find anything as centrally located and less costly.
