About this property
Unwind at Bridger Trail Retreat on CDA Lake
Summary:
Wake to the water, sip coffee on the dock, and end the day with s’mores under the stars. Bridger Trail Retreat is the kind of lakeside hideaway that makes you forget what day it is, yet keeps every comfort close at hand.
The Space:
• 1,040 sq ft lakefront cabin on a gated private road — just you, the trees, and 100 feet of Lake Coeur d'Alene shoreline
• Cozy and efficient layout with large windows looking straight out to the water — you wake up to the lake every morning
• Fully equipped kitchen for cooking in — stock up in Coeur d'Alene before heading out, the road is private and the nearest store is a way out — note that there is no dishwasher
• Parking for two cars above the home, with a path and a gear cart to help carry luggage down to the front door
• Sleeps 8 across one bedroom and a loft.
• Loft sleeps up to 6 with three double beds — a natural fit for kids or a group that's comfortable with a cozy, cabin-style sleeping setup
*Please be aware that this property is accessed by a descending gravel path and is not recommended for guests with mobility concerns.
Living & Dining
• Open living and dining area with lake views through large windows — the layout draws you toward the water from every seat
• Dining table for shared meals with a view that most restaurants would charge premium prices for
Outdoor Living — The Real Draw
• Private dock with direct deep-water lake access — swim off the end, fish from the side, or tie up your boat if you've brought one
• Large deck and patio for lounging in the fresh mountain air
• Fire pit for evening s'mores, stargazing, and the kind of conversations that only happen around an open flame
• BBQ grill for outdoor cooking on warm evenings
The Setting
• Located in the Beauty Bay area on the quieter, wilder eastern shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene — a stretch of the lake that feels genuinely wild and undeveloped
• Mineral Ridge hiking trail is nearby — a 3.3-mile loop with some of the most dramatic lake views in North Idaho, especially at sunrise
• Close to the public boat launch for guests who want to explore the lake by water
• A car is required — this is a true escape, not a walkable neighborhood, and that's entirely the point
This one is for guests who want to genuinely disconnect. Gated road, private dock and 80 feet of shoreline — just the lake, the mountains, the wildlife, and as much quiet as you can handle. Beauty Bay earned its name. Cellular service while navigating around the lake to the cabin can be intermittent.
Winter Eagle Watching
Winter is one of the most spectacular times to visit Bridger Trail. Each year, hundreds of bald eagles gather along Lake Coeur d'Alene and the nearby Coeur d'Alene River, making this one of the premier eagle viewing destinations in the Pacific Northwest. From late December through February, you'll have the opportunity to witness these incredible birds soaring overhead and fishing in the open water, creating an unforgettable experience right from the private deck of the home.
Winter Access Information
Please note that this home is located in a beautiful mountain setting and winter access requires planning. After leaving Highway 97, the home is approximately 1.5 miles up a dirt road. The final mile is narrow, steep, and can become challenging during winter weather. When snowfall exceeds approximately 6 inches, a capable four-wheel drive vehicle with good ground clearance is strongly recommended. Two-wheel drive vehicles, low-clearance vehicles, and all-wheel drive passenger cars may not be able to safely access the property in these conditions. Because mountain weather can change quickly, we want you to book with confidence. If the forecast or actual conditions indicate 6 inches or more of snow that would make access unsafe, we will gladly provide a 100% refund if you choose to cancel up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival. If you have any questions about road conditions before your trip, please reach out. We're happy to provide the latest information to help you plan your stay.
• Dogs allowed with approval
• All other animals prohibited. Unauthorized pets subject to fees/removal
Guest Access:
Easy and stress-free arrival instructions will be provided 24 hours in advance, including simple keyless entry instructions for the front door.
Boat & Trailer Parking Notice
Guests planning to bring a boat should be aware that parking and maneuvering a boat trailer may be limited due to narrow roads, steep driveways, limited turnaround space, and parking restrictions. Trailer access and on-site trailer parking cannot be assumed.
We strongly recommend contacting us prior to arrival if you plan to bring a boat so we can help you determine the best launch, parking, and storage options for your specific property and vessel.
The Neighborhood:
Nestled in gorgeous North Idaho, the spot offers an escape surrounded by nature. You can soak up the peace of the woods and the relaxing lake, perfect for ditching the city vibes. Come on over and enjoy the quiet life, with tons of opportunities for boating, fishing, and outdoor fun and an opportunity to see an eagle perched above. It's a secluded area so a car is required for getting around. Areas of the road are narrow and steep, therefore we strongly encourage you to take it slow - which will help avoid any bumps as well as not kicking up dust. There's parking for two cars right above the house, and a simple path down to the front door with a cart located at the front door to help carry your gear. Like the majority of homes on Lake CDA, getting to the dock requires a combination of stairs and pathways.
Getting Around:
LOCATION
• 15 min to Mineral Ridge Scenic Area/Trailhead
• 30 min to Coeur d'Alene and the famous Coeur d'Alene Golf Course w/the floating green
• 1 hr to Spokane International Airport
