"Our stay was spoilt by the unpleasant verbal and aggressive attitude of our neighbours. Because we had it transpired, parked in their designated parking bay on our first day. We did receive the instructions for the correct parking space for our property until the following day. I would suggest the correct bay is marked clearly with the house number, so future guests don’t experience the same rudeness and verbal abuse we did."

"This was a lovely bolt hole in the country and an ideal location for visiting wonderful local landmarks. The cottage was well equipped and nicely presented with a welcoming box of biscuits on arrival. Very quiet with tranquil views. The owners were over the driveway and extremely friendly. Salisbury, Glastonbury, Sherborne and the like were within easy reach as was Poole on the coast. An ideal spot and perfect for that relaxing getaway."

Best Western Shaftesbury The Royal Chase Hotel

"Really dated and tierd but staff making best of what they have. We visited in a heatwave so perhaps not a true reflection but was stifling. No air con. A small broken (span but didnt move side to side)fan provided that pushed the warm air around and the next morning fans had been put in the corridor. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast staff a bit abrupt but again perhaps the heat! We booked for a short stay and the surrounding countryside and shaftesbury Town are lovely. The hotel is situated on the main road although still quiet and lovely garden etc. Gpod location for the town etc Unfortunately the pool area is not nice. Changing rooms really dirty and the pool water really cloudy and murky- the main reason we chose the hotel was for the pool. All in all was fine for an overnight stay and room was clean. Just a bit old fashioned and dated for us and the pool area need some attention"

"We was told on the site we booked on we would get parking paid or part paid, they told us where to park and gave us a ticket which you couldn't use , so didn't get what they said we would with he parking. Staff were helpful. We had a beach view as we were on the last floor to the roof. Which we didn't ask for we asked for ground floor from r my husband who struggled with stairs , there was a lift but that's not the point as we asked for a room first floor asap when I booked the hotel. The room was very old clean but they obviously don't know how to hoover as the carpet was dirty. We asked by email and rang to explain when we were arriving they said we would be made priority to get in the room as it was 4.00pm check in time very late compared to others. We got there just before 3.00pm and not ready we were still in by 4.00 pm not happy as we were told by phone and email we wouldn't have to wait."

"Still the best place to stay in Poole. Shower was awesome, enough room to get a rugby union team in!!! Great location near the restaurants on the Quay and a ten minute walk from the train station. Deluxe Room was very spacious and had an iron bath in the corner!! However, mattress was too soft and the pillows too 'fluffy'. Just a personal note, but we needed hard mattresses and 'dull' pillows. Breakfast is over-priced (plenty of coffee shops/delicatessens in Poole), but if you need to eat one, buy the Cooked and go all in!! Large bar area and restaurant. Fabulous building all round, full of history - you can learn about one of the previous owners in nearby Poole Museum."
