Heringsdorf Vacation Packages
Heringsdorf is located on the island Usedom in the Baltic Sea, boasting some of the best seaside resorts in Germany and Poland. Heringsdorf is known as the imperial seaside town, famed for its heavily adorned ancient manors and houses, many of which were built by the imperial German family. Lots of seaside entertainment makes this Pomeranian town a popular holiday destination.
Walk around the town and take in the aristocratic architecture of the Imperial Villa and the Villa Oppenheim, which housed German royalty for centuries. Heringsdorf is one of the oldest seaside towns in Germany. When it became popular for the aristocracy to vacation here in the 1800s, they went to great lengths to make the town and its architecture as opulent as possible. This turned this one-time sleepy fisherman’s village into an exclusive destination for artists, musicians and aristocrats. Today, the town boasts a wide array of luxury hotels and boarding houses.
The town's biggest attraction is the promenade pier. Inaugurated in 1995 as a replacement for the Emperor William Pier, which was built in 1893 and burned down in the mid-20th century, it is the longest promenade pier in Germany. Take a walk down the pier to enjoy the pretty coastline or just relax at one of many cafes. The pier is also home to the town's main entertainment complex, with a cinema, hotels, restaurants and more.
For all these attractions, it is the famous spas that bring the masses to Heringsdorf, also known as the “Bathtub of Germany.” Relax by opting in for a luxury spa-day in one of the many facilities here.
Toward the end of your stay, consider taking a short trip just across the border to visit the Polish harbor town of Swinemünde, for a taste of another cuisine and culture. You can reach both via Heringsdorf Airport, conveniently located right between the two, at the heart of Usedom Island.
