Just a Stopping Point

Posted Jul 6, 2017
Pros: It was clean and the staff friendly
Cons: The facilities need some updating in the rooms, the lighting shouldn't be white light, and water could be provided in the fridge.
Location: Great proximity to Holland downtown, easy to get to from most everywhere.
My husband and I needed a hotel to stay in for a few days over the 4th of July. The hotel had a special so we got a great price for two nights. We checked in and all went fine. Our room was as advertised, clean and with the King size bed. The facilities of the hotel are aged and the wear does show. However, everything was clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast, powder based eggs, really salty sausage, but you have options of bagels, yogurt, fruit, etc. It's budget hotel food! But the coffee was surprisingly good! Which was definitely a life saver. You get what you pay for here when you book a low priced / older hotel. My biggest complaint was that our room had white light which are the only lighting sources (three switch on lamps). This was a drag because that type of light often gives me headaches. The only non-working item was my blow dryer but they gave us a discount when they found out it was broken. The A/c unit worked great and wasn't too loud, the window had a good light blocking curtain, and we were on the second floor facing the woods. So, overall everything was fine! It wasn't great but it wasn't bad.

Our room was not clean. The sheets and bathtub had random hair. Disgusting!

Smells like smoke , slow drain, no elevator

Posted Jun 29, 2017
This is suppose to be a non smoking hotel, but from the time I entered until I walked into my room it reaked of smoke. I asked the front desk to make sure it was a non smoking room and she told me the whole hotel was suppose to be smoke free, but sometimes people still smoke. Bathroom sink wouldn't drain, waited for it to go down 5 minutes to brush my teeth. There is no elevator to the 2nd floor. Won't be wasting anymore money here. Disappointed!

There are some sketchy hotels in this area. This isn't one of them.

The stay was good. There was a crate in the lobby for the first day but service was good. Clean and breakfast was solid.

hotel clean. comfortable

Posted Feb 26, 2017
Pros: convenient location
Cons: communication between staff members.
Location: not important
hotel clean, comfortable. But housekeeping threw out my insulated tote bag, due, I think, because the front desk didn't tell housekeeping I was staying another night.
