Great stay for families

My family spent 3 nights during Christmas and it was perfect, everything that is stated in the description was available. The view of the lake was nice and serene and the area is very peaceful.

Amazing home

We had a wonderful time at this home. The kitchen is fantastic and has everything you need for cooking. Views of the lake are incredible. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful home

This is our second time staying at this wonderful home for the New Year holiday. The kitchen has everything a cook would need! The home is comfortable and an easy walk down to the lake. We have a fantastic time ringing in the new year at this home w our family.

Beautiful view and beautiful home

We loved staying here! The views of the lake were perfect and we enjoyed them very much from the front porch, fire pit, and hot tub. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We cooked great meals in the big kitchen. We drove 45 minutes to an awesome hike with really nice views (Sharp Top). Loved the house and the location. Would definitely come back!

Well-equipped Home with a Lovely Lakefront for Family Fun.

This home was the best-equipped of the homes that we have stayed at the past five years at Smith Mountain Lake. We especially appreciated the kayaks, paddle board and variety of floats waiting for us to use in the cabana. Seating is abundant. The owners are very responsive and are committed to making sure that visitors have an enjoyable experience at the lake.

This beautiful home on a pristine lake is a great place for families

We had such a wonderful vacation on Smith Mountain Lake, thanks to this beautiful house! Nancy was a pleasure to work with, helpful and accommodating. The house was clean, with great accommodations for large families and many toys to play with on the lake. We were out on the lake all day, enjoyed dinners around the large dinning table and made smores at night around the fire pit.

Fabulous Vacation at Summer Lane

Our family of 8 enjoyed everything about this property! Good cove for swimming and kayak and paddle board. Easy to dock our rental pontoon. Fully stocked kitchen. Extremely clean house and everything well maintained. There is not one thing I can say that isn’t positive about Summer Lane.

Perfect Lake House

We had a great week at Smith Mt. Lake. The house was PERFECT for extended family with kids. Nancy was super helpful and easily accessible for any questions. The house was clean and well stocked for cooking dinners. Plenty of room for everyone. Kids (and grown ups) loved the games. The house is on a great area of the lake and the kids loved swimming off the dock and using the paddle board and kayak. Would definitely visit again!

Beautiful home, beautiful location!

What a great way to spend a week! The home was beautiful and well-suited for a family gathering with a large kitchen, large dining room table, plenty of deck space and a nice yard for "spreading out." Thanks so much for a well-appointed home and plenty of water toys. Owner was easily accessible and very quick to respond to any needs. Looking forward to returning to SML in 2019. Thanks!!

Perfect lake house

This house was exactly as described and perfect for our group of adults and teens. The setting and view are amazing and the house is very comfortable and clean. Comfortable beds and multiple sitting areas inside and out. We had fun floating and paddling on the lake with the provided gear. Such a great location on a small no wake cove which allowed for relaxing time on the water. The hosts are very responsive to questions. Really, this is the house. Don’t bother to look further!

Fabulous House

We had an amazing time at Summer Lane! The house is so comfortable and well appointed, the lake is absolutely beautiful and the house has kayaks, life jackets and a lily pad to enjoy on the water. We rented a pontoon boat from Pete at SML Premiere Boats and it was delivered to us as we were checking in. The lake seems intimidatingly large at first but we quickly found our favorite spots like Los Amigos restaurant at Crazy Horse Marina and Mitchell’s Marina for great lunch and ice cream. We’ve already booked for next year’s family gathering with my VA based family! Thank you Nancy and Charles for your amazing hospitality!

Highly recommend!!

We had such a wonderful vacation at Smith Mountain Lake. This house was absolutely perfect for our group of 10. Everyone had a bed/room, the kitchen, dining and living areas were a great size. The kitchen was well stocked for us to be able to cook dinner each night. And the pictures just don't do the outdoor space justice! The deck, hot tub, firepit and dock were incredible. We took the kayaks out, ate smores, played in the yard, enjoyed the cool fall mornings in the hot tub. Nancy was sweet and responsive the one time we needed her. We already want to come back!

Why did we have to leave!!?

What a great place! The dock and cove area were perfect for both the adults and kids - quiet and safe from any boat traffic. We had a family of ducks and ducklings visit us every day! The kids loved the paddle board, kayaks, and fishing! Our beds were very comfortable (though the sheets could have fit a little better). Plenty of space for everyone and the kitchen was perfect!! Loved the hot tub! Couldn't have been any better! We would definitely stay here again!! I forgot my pillow and the owner even nicely made sure I got it back quickly!! Thanks Nancy!!

Perfect house, perfect setting!

Wow, wow, wow! This house has it all. First of all, it's on the best part of the lake, in a no wake cove so you can kayak and swim and paddle board in peace. Secondly, the house itself was perfection. The kitchen is so well stocked (2 full sized fridges in the kitchen was awesome!) and spacious. The bedrooms were a great size with comfy beds, and the downstairs area was perfect for our teenage/adult kids to hang out. The dock was great and had all the lake toys you could ever want/need. We rented a Wave Runner one day and had a blast doing that - a great way to see the lake! We tubed and water skied to our hearts content, and came back to the house for a nice dinner and a soak in the hot tub and then enjoyed a fire by the water. Our weather was perfect too so that was a bonus. :) Would definitely stay here again!

beautiful, entertaining spot

this house and surrounding property are just lovely. the house is settled on the tip of a small hill which goes down to the lake where the owners have placed a cabana which houses loads of things to use while enjoying the water - noodles, life jackets, fishing nets, a refrigerator for drinks or the fish you catch(we saw many nice size fish jumping:), floating pads, kayaks(a single and a double), and a paddleboard. there is a nice table w/many chairs where you can have lunch or dinner. the floating dock is spacious and affords a place for the kids to run and cannonball into the water. the house is very large w/an upstairs that has 3 bedrooms which have new, very comfy mattresses on them. there are 2 full baths upstairs and a central area w/a large tv. there is a sunroom which has a large dr table and chairs. the kitchen is any cook's dream - i will never have such a kitchen. it is large and well appointed w/anything and everything one would need and then some. there are 3 refrigerators in the house which is nice as my large family all took food and we needed the space. there is plenty of space to put your dry goods as well as a sink in a small room off the kitchen where you can clean the fish you catch. downstairs is foosball, a game boy, other entertainment features which kept my children and grandchildren busy and happy. there is a large bedroom and full bath room downstairs plus a bedroom w/bunk beds. there were places in the house for privacy and places to go to join w/other people. that's important. everything is clean and nice and pretty. the owners are very accommodating and nice to deal with. we are grandparents and took our adult children and their children. all enjoyed themselves immensely.

A beautiful getaway

This property is outstanding. The views of the lake are amazing and it’s just steps away from the water. There’s ample outdoor and indoor space with comfortable furnishings and the kitchen is large and well provisioned. On top of all that the hosts are lovely—they reached out with recommendations right when we booked and were quick to answer all of our questions. I will definitely be back!

Great house on Smith Mountain Lake

Perfect house for time on the lake. Beautiful view from the deck. Kayaks were fun to play on the water. Fire pit is huge and will accommodate a large group sitting around the fire at night. We can’t wait to get back. House has lots of space. I highly recommend this house.

Great stay at Summer Lane

Our family had a great stay at Summer Lane for Spring Break. The house was clean and well appointed. The kids loved having the downstairs area for themselves. The hot tub was great on the cool evenings and the fire pit area was used for s’mores. We saw some bass from the dock but only managed to catch one. Highly recommend this property.

Family Gathering

Our 2 daughters and their kids met up at the house to celebrate my husband's 70th BD. We live in 3 different states, so meet in the middle. We hiked, kayaked, went horseback riding, made smores and relaxed in the hot tub. It was a great fall weekend!

Perfect spot for families

The location was fantastic, the no hill short yard leading to the dock with no trees blocking the view, and the inside was very inviting equipped with everything we needed. Will remember this home and trip and hope to stay again in the future. Thanks for a great stay
