Beautiful views of the river excellent breakfast

The place seems a bit tired and run-down. Could use a refurbishment! My son and I stayed there for two nights because we were participating in a local reenactment event. The two or three cockroaches that had to be dealt with in the bathroom were a minor issue. Still better than sleeping in a tent. However, later in the evening of the day we checked out, the bed bug bites appeared. Icing on the cake of this “less than stellar” motel experience…!

I can show pictures of the unit that was very different than described. I paid extra for a Mountain View for 3 nights - and it was not Mountain View. We were in a different building at the bottom of the hill a 8 min freeezing cold and icy walk to the pool area.

Positives: New England charm, (buildings and location) welcoming and accommodating staff, spacious room with comfy beds, sumptuous breakfasts included, many places to relax in common areas inside and out, bar and dinner on-site. Negatives: several electrical outlets were worn out and didn’t hold plugs in room 19, couldn’t darken the room without impeding airflow from the window ac unit, stair-only access to second floor plus 2 hallway doors to open before getting to room. This was awkward with luggage when checking in/out, but I’m guessing this is for fire code reasons. (see “New England charm”above)
