“The hotel was generally clean and tidy, but the smell of urine in our room toilet overpowered the air freshener, and never went away. There were only steep stairs to all rooms. However on request the staff put our luggage in a dumb-waiter to get it up to our room. The optional breakfast was inexpensive but very basic and no tea or coffee was available. “It’s a small inn but the location is excellent and the staff is endlessly helpful. The public bath is nice but like the private bath in my room was a little worn out and I can definitely see someone getting a splinter if they behave like a fools. The daily breakfast was a delightful spread of classic Japanese dishes and everyday a cup of tea and a snack was waiting for me when I got back in the from heat.”
