The Candeo Hotel in China Town Nagasaki was one of the best hotel experiences my husband and I ever had. The hotel is clean and was so quiet, I thought we were the only guests there, but in fact there were so many! I know because evening when we returned to our hotel room, there would be a silk bag filled with new towels, silk pajamas and house slippers, and fresh bottles of water hanging on the door knobs of all the checked-in guests on our floor...and there were many many bags, but the rooms...

Beautiful Nagasaki hotel; well maintained. Rooms are new and with useful tech features. Views are great from the rooms. Location at Nagasaki station is ideal. Staff is helpful to a point -but they insist their rules must be strictly followed. For example one cannot eat outside food in the lobby - the lobby cafe has a small coffee stand with a very limited selection. If you want to drink a soda in the lobby for example while waiting for someone you're out of luck - no outside food in the lobby...

Amazing hotel. I got the cheapest room, so the view from my window was an adjoining wall, but the hotel is built on a hill, providing dazzling views of Nagasaki. Splendid place. As to drawbacks, my only complaint is that it is located in an area without nearby restaurants, bars, or even convenience stores. The same isolation that makes it so quiet and grand also means it'll be a fifteen minute, minimum, walk to any businesses. So you do need to be signed up for the hotel's meal plan, or else...
