Make sure you make the most of all that this city has to do and see. Don't miss Hohai University or Nanjing University.
Jiadengyu isn't the only place in Altay worth exploring; travelers can also rent a vehicle and set off to explore the magic of the surrounding landscapes, towns and cities. You'll find Wuyi, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the southeast, and Jurong 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the west.
Approximately 2 miles (3 kilometers) to the east of Jiadengyu is Nanjing, an important regional center which is home to Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall, Nanjing City Wall and Xuan Wu Lake Park. Porcelain Tower, Nanjing University of Technology and Zhonghua Men Gate are among the many other points of interest here that should be high on every visitor's itinerary.
Authentic traveling is so much more than just the scenery, it's also about the poetry, song and story of a place. Your time in Altay will become infinitely richer if you make the effort to practice a few handy phrases and sayings in Mandarin. "Nǐ yào bú yào gēn wǒ tiàowǔ" is the Mandarin way to say "Would you like todance with me?" And, for "This gentleman/lady will pay for everything", you can learn how to say "Zhèiwèi xiānsheng huì qīngdān" It's fun to give it a go!
When your time is up in Jiadengyu, spend the last of your renminbi on last-minute souvenirs and bid a fond Zàijiàn (farewell).
