Many travelers use Kandrian as a starting point for further explorations. Papua New Guinea is home to plenty of natural and cultural sights. Ama, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the southwest, and Moro, 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the southeast of Kandrian are also worth visiting should you have the time.
A surefire way to really understand a spot is by learning about its earlier days. Take a trip to the war relics and monuments while you are here.
Get outdoors and get amongst it in Papua New Guinea. Try your hand at mountain climbing or give hiking a try.
Local cuisines are one of the keys to getting to know about an area. So take the time to visit some of Papua New Guinea's cafés and restaurants. You will see that breadfruit (ulu) and coconuts are common ingredients of local foods. Don't leave Papua New Guinea without checking out chicken pot as well as kokoda fish.
