"The best thing about this place is its location, very close to the Nagasaka gondola lift and main ticket office. I also like the fact that I could rent my ski equipment right from the hotel, and stow the rentals onsite at a designated area. Every morning after eating breakfast at the lodge, I put on the gears and just needed to walk 5 minutes to get to the lift and hit the slope. The hotel is a family run business, probably from owner’s own house but it has everything a skier could hope for - good breakfast and dinner with very reasonable prices; the owner is very approachable and always willing to help customers in need; his wife and staff in kitchen are also super nice and very helpful. An intern working in kitchen even spoke excellent English, which is rare in Japan, and provided superior services. Onsen bath onsite is free to all customers, so are two washing machines and driers. The owner provided the laundry detergent so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own. Some places you pay to do laundry but not this one. Like most of Japanese hotels, real estate spaces are limited and not all rooms have a private toilet. I booked early and paid a bit more to get my own private toilet in the room, which turned out to be well worth it. No private shower in the guest room but that didn’t bother me at all as the shower room and onsen (hot spring room ) are mostly available or with a short wait. Overall, I loved my 4 nights stay there and definitely would book it again."

" I asked for a non smoking room when I booked my room. When I arrived and got my key the room smells cigarettes. I asked to be changed to a different room but they stated no. The whole floor smells cigarettes. "

"Nice hotel. Service was helpful but not always polite. Most people where great though. Dinner is over priced and not the greatest. Rooms where nice and clean and a good mix of traditional and modern."

"We booked three reservations. Their cancellation policy is great and it allows us flexibility in our trip. We travelled from Sapporo and were not sure to arrive on the first day of our reservation. So the one day reservation plus a three day was perfect. Great Japanese breakfast. Book larger rooms if you have luggage. Staff very amazing and helpful."

A warm lounge and wine and conversation to come back to at the end of an unbelievable ski day. Love the underfloor heating! The shuttle is quick, easy and flexible. The location is great and a short walk to and from dining options. We can't wait to get back!"

"It’s just beautiful. They have a shuttle to the ski areas that aren’t walkable. Free shuttle from and to the train station. They were very friendly and helped me set up my luggage transportation to the next ski location. "

"Not only is this lodge one of kind, the owners and staff set it apart by offering a very special experience for all guests.
