Fujitsu Kawasaki Stadium is the place to watch American football in this city of temples and lush parks. The American football stadium hosts amateur teams from across the country, offering a fantastic opportunity to get a glimpse of local life.

First opened in 1952, the stadium was mainly used for baseball as the home of the Lotte Orions before they moved to Chiba. In 2003, a reconstruction transformed it into a venue for American football, a sport that’s becoming increasingly popular in Japan. Cheer on the teams and look forward to halftime when cheerleader and dance squads and other entertainment groups often perform.

If you can’t get enough sports, put Todoroki Stadium at Todoroki Ryokuchi Park on your itinerary as well. If you’re traveling with children, they’ll love the thrilling rides at Yomiuriland. The park is especially fun to visit during summer to enjoy its splash park and slides. Anime fans flock to the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum to delve into the world of Doraemon the robot cat. For shopping and dining, find many choices at the huge Lazona Kawasaki Plaza, along with the Italian-themed La Cittadella. In the evening, see a show at Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall.
