We loved staying here, it was quiet and the Miraflores neighborhood made us feel very safe even going out at night. The bed was comfortable, the housekeeper/cook was wonderful, the breakfast was a great way to start the day, the room was cleaned daily, and the shower was great. But we do have to mention that there was a strong odor of mildew when we entered the room, which we discovered was coming from the mattress and especially the shade on the window. The AC didn't move any air at all and my SO spent the first couple of days with his nose and eyes constantly running due to the mold and mildew. When we checked the AC later it was so clogged it couldn't move air and the bathroom vent was very dirty. There was a fan on the desk because the AC was so tepid. Being us we opened the windows, vented the room, let some sun into it and by the third day we were fine. We weren't mad, we were in a very humid area after all, but those shades really needed a good cleaning or a spray with tea tree oil.

Lots of cats live there and love to be petted. They are fed for by locals and are also gradually adopted by the citizens of Lima. Lovely restaurants surround the park and there was a public dance one day in the park. A wonderful amenity for an extraordinary city.
