You're spoiled for sightseeing choice when in Sakyo Ward. Kifune Shrine is a great place to start here, but there are loads of other interesting spots to check out. Daitokuji Temple, Kinkaku-ji Temple, and Mount Hiei are not far from the sacred place and and will cap off your day nicely.
