![Beit Shearim is a national park in the Lower Galilee region of northern Israel. Beit Shearim is known for the remains of a Roman city located on a hilltop and the ancient Jewish burial catacombs located within it. Today the Beit Shearim National Park incorporates both the ruins of the city and the burial tombs.

The city was originally established between the 9th century BC and the 3th century BC during the Persian and Hellenistic periods. But it was during the Roman era that the city was most prosperous as a Jewish settlement – in the 2nd century AD the Jews were expelled from Jerusalem and established several communities in the north, including Beit Shearim. “Great stay at Kedem Hotel! Beautiful rooms, nice pool (although small), nice area, nice hiking options from the hotel, tasty breakfast, great staff, very accommodating and helpful (I wanted to have a few surprises in the room for my husband’s birthday and they helped with everything, they also helped with restaurant recommendations in the area), good massage. The view includes not only nature but also some buildings and a farm and some tractors, and the music from the pool and the animal noises……

“ 這間住宿位於Akko中心，不管到海邊或是清真寺、土耳其浴場、市集，都是步行可達的距離。我們入住的這間很有住在土耳其Cappadocia地下屋的感覺，但接待處那棟以及另外吃早餐的地方的建築又是摩洛哥Riad形式（提醒：接待處和房間不在同一個地方，但循著門上的指示很容易可找到，接待處是水藍色新穎的大門，要按鈴才有人開門），房間內部和網站圖片一樣美，而且空間很大，checkin時老闆很認真的為我們解說及介紹餐廳，工作人員也很熱心的協助一切。Akko是我們到以色列旅遊第一個過夜的城市，雖然天氣不好是有些可惜，但人潮因此少了很多，也這裡開啟了我們對以色列的好印象。很喜歡穿梭在Akko阿拉伯曲折的街道中，更願意再為了Zidan Sarai 再次造訪Akko!”

![Beit Shearim is a national park in the Lower Galilee region of northern Israel. Beit Shearim is known for the remains of a Roman city located on a hilltop and the ancient Jewish burial catacombs located within it. Today the Beit Shearim National Park incorporates both the ruins of the city and the burial tombs.

The city was originally established between the 9th century BC and the 3th century BC during the Persian and Hellenistic periods. But it was during the Roman era that the city was most prosperous as a Jewish settlement – in the 2nd century AD the Jews were expelled from Jerusalem and established several communities in the north, including Beit Shearim.
