We had a lovely time exploring the Hunter for ten days while staying at Poppet Head Manor. The history and interest of the house added an extra element, as well as the generosity of the hosts - providing a selection of groceries upon arrival to satiate hungry and tired children after a journey! The location is close enough to the wineries, which is great, but it’s not among the rolling green hills of Pokolbin, which would have made it exceptional. It is also a short drive to Cessnock for groceries and a modest number of shops/ restaurants. The kids loved the pool and the amenities and privacy at the house were all good. We spent the Easter long weekend away at the Hunter and we couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. All the included extras and special touches made the stay even more special. From the welcome note at the front door, the welcome hamper with wine, chocolates, eggs, bread, milk, fruit and many many more to list, to the night lights in the corridor and toilet. The kids loved having a queen size bed each and had plenty of space to kick around their football outside when they were not in the pool.
