Cannot fault staff, pub or food. However the room, while a good size needed a more thorough cleaning. Dusty and carpet needs cleaning.

Staff were ok, very standard. The premises was quite big and there were about 5 cars parked so I can’t imagine business is great. The decor was super old, not shabby chic, just shabby, all dark wood and like it’d come from a charity shop, which is probably due to the size of the premises and furniture needed to fill the place. The wood was very worn on everything from the cupboards to the bannisters and doors. Shower was ok. The TV was small and so far from the bed that the remote barely worked. We didn’t get a login for the internet. The room was cold and it was quite noisy until about 11pm. The guest entrance looked like it was just off the latch and open all night as it was beeping late at night and same in the morning when we walked past. Breakfast was pretty poor, the vegetarian breakfast came without the veggie sausage, the full English was tasteless, both went unfinished, the waitress didn’t even crack a smile but did bring us milk with floating bits in it and eventually brought some sauce. Overall, a fairly miserable experience and there’s no way this place was worth the cost, we stayed at somewhere nearby a week earlier which was far better and far cheaper. We think someone defrosted the car for us in the morning, so that was a small bonus, probably for the quick getaway though to be fair.

The staff are very helpful and polite, unfortunately the room is clean but tired, comfortable but not as advertised on the website when we booked no walk-in shower either. The evening meal was very nice and good selection again staff very friendly and helpful. The noise was from the road at the front as we needed the window open

Fantastic service from staff.Rooms could be better
Beautiful location and beer garden. Rooms were ok but very tiered, in need of a freshen up and dragging out if the 1980's. Please remove the horrible net curtains, they are filthy! Apart from the room, everything else was lovely. Brilliant service from all staff members, check in was friendly and all bar and waiting on staff were wonderful.

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. We were in room 2 which was noisy because of nearby mechanical noises (we were told it was the cellar). There was no soap provided so we had to use shower gel. Recently decorated walls, unfortunately spoiled by damp / mould on a part of outside wall. Bathroom extractor fan not working.

Short staffed and even though we were acknowledged as soon as we arrived we had to wait for 5mins before anyone came to check us in. They had walked past us to say they would be a minute but instead went to serve several people at the bar.

I expected better quality of room for the price. Squeaky floorboards, varnish flaking off the tired looking wardrobe, missing sealant around shower panel, lots of cobwebs in top corner of bathroom. Food was excellent though and staff very helpful and polite.

Great for a little romantic get away
Great place and lovely service - only minor niggle is breakfast finishes at 9:30 which is a little early for a weekend. Will definitely return.

Brilliant stay, happy friendly staff great breakfast, would have been a 10 but my evening meal fish and chips was really poor, batter hard as nails dry fish way way over cooked, what a pitty! Other than that very good will defo be back next month,

Noise from below during first part of noght - perhaps fridge compressor in kitche; car park not gritted was quite dangerous. Otherwise excellent. Thank you.

Arranged an early check-in with them before hand and on arrival at 1pm the 3 rooms we had booked we're ready for our wedding party. Breakfast was all cooked to order which was a treat. Parking is plentiful and secure. Highly recommended

Stayed here whilst attending a friends wedding. 4 Poster room was clean tidy and surprisingly a lot larger than expected. Staff were wonderful and they have a lovely homely pub downstairs. Breakfast was amazing as it was all cooked to order

Was a comfortable two night stay ..the room was spacious and clean. A decent fan was provided and the room tea/ coffee tray was excellent...a little cut above the usual. Staff were polite & helpful. Would recommend.

3 of our meals were inedible and finally deducted from the bill. Some meals that were ordered turned out to be unavailable, but only advised of this when the other mains were being served???? Starters were lacking in flavour. Breakfast the following morning however, was excellent.....Later in the evening our small party was pestered by a drunk and the staff took no action about this.........
