On arrival at Oikos Nostos, it's hard to take your eyes away from the extraordinary vistas panning out in front of you. When you eventually manage to, however, you'll also be entranced by the property itself, with its clean-cut contemporary lines, its composure and its beguiling sense of tranquillity. This is a true haven, a world unto itself, a destination that gives meaning to your journey.
Inside: accommodation at Oikos Nostos is all on one, step free, level.
The main entrance opens into a welcoming hallway, which in turn leads into a generously proportioned, extremely bright open-concept communal area. The most striking feature of this space is the sweep of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, which serve not only to make the most of the spectacular sea views, but also to unite the interiors and the terraces in a seamless continuum. In terms of design, clean contemporary lines, soothing colours, and a minimalist aesthetic combine to create a sense of grace and ease that is enhanced by the Greek sun, the gentle sea breezes and the inspiring cliff-top position.
At the centre of the open-plan communal space is a well-equipped contemporary kitchen, which features a large central island-bar. Beyond this is the dining area, with its impressive marble table and access to the guest WC. Nearest to the main entrance, meanwhile, is the living area, which has been furnished with a voluminous sink-in L-shaped sofa and a selection of easy chairs. Wherever you are in this space, the views out to sea and across the neighbouring islands are hypnotic.
From one side of the living area, a corridor leads to the sleeping wing and the three bedrooms, all of which come with walls of sliding glass doors, terrace access, tranquil vibes and exceptional sea views:
• a double with in-room sink, and an en-suite shower room with a skylight above the shower
• a double with walk-through wardrobe and en-suite shower room with a skylight above the shower
• the main bedroom, a large double with self-standing in-room tub, and an en-suite shower room with double sinks
Accommodation at Oikos Nostos is completed by a gym on a lower floor, accessed via an external flight of steps.
Outside: all of the rooms at Oikos Nostos flow out via walls of sliding glass doors onto a terrace that wraps around the property on all sides and offers endless panoramas across the sparkling blue Ionian Sea to Meganissi, the islets of Arkoudi and Atakos, and, in the distance, Kefalonia and Ithaca.
Dotted with sitting areas (allowing all guest to find their own spot), the terrace finds its apotheosis outside the open-plan communal space. Here is the extraordinary 20m-long angular infinity pool with an adjoining hydromassage pool.
At one end of the pool, a sun-kissed stretch of decking gives way to a voluminous shaded area furnished with a large sofa, easy chairs and a dining table.
Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.
Oikos Nostos features a fantastic infinity pool, offering swimmers stunning views while in the pool. There is a drop off the infinity side so we recommend children are supervised at all times. Please refer to our general safety page if you would like more information about infinity pools.
Parts of the route to this property are unpaved and a little rough. We therefore recommend guests hire a 4-wheel drive car or one with high ground clearance.
