Tranquil Edge Retreat

A stay at this comfortable oceanfront house in central Lincoln City places you steps away from the beach, and affords you beautiful ocean views from the private hot tub, a spot to watch whales by day, or simply gaze at the stars by night.

Located in a quiet spot among pines, you'll be able to see Nelscott Reef in front of the home, a popular spot for surfers to congregate. The beach access is just three blocks to the north. Plus, the Lincoln Outlets are within a short drive if you catch the shopping bug.

The house itself is bright and features a retro-style and art collected from around the world, yet it evokes the warmth and comfort of a home away from home. Enter the spacious living room and take your pick among the comfy couch or armchairs. Books on the shelf are ideal for relaxing, with an assortment of games to choose from to get everyone in on the fun. A TV with Blu-ray is great for movie nights.

At the other end of this room is a fancy, wooden dining table with seats for eight, and room for more to squeeze in for a family meal. Nearby, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make your favorite dishes, including extras like a mixer, blender, toaster, and dishwasher. The granite countertops offer more than enough space, and there are a few stools for sitting at the counter by the window.

Outside is a back deck with a patio table and chairs - great for lounging in the sun over morning coffee (use the coffee grinder for a fresh cup) or eating a meal cooked on the gas Weber grill.

Best of all, you can even enjoy ocean vistas as you soak in the private hot tub, rain or shine!

Upstairs, there is a spacious bonus room with two double beds and a smaller room with a double bed. Both rooms offer ocean views, and there's a shared half bath for convenience. A washer/dryer allows for laundry, and WiFi is available for your convenience.

This house is perfect for family reunions, multi-family vacations, or a weekend with friends - Lincoln City is a favorite among Oregonians, with many activities and sights to offer. You'll have opportunities for horseback riding just over a mile away at Green Acres, as well as sailing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding on Devils Lake through Blue Heron Landing Rentals.

Of course, you could also stick to classic beach activities like building sand castles and kite-flying. At the end of the day, watch the sky melt from your back deck with a cocktail as the sun delves into the ocean.

A wide number of delicious restaurants lay within driving distance of the house, some of the noteworthy ones being Pier 101 for lunch or breakfast, and Humble Pie Pizzeria for dinner. If you're a fan of seafood, now is the time to get your fix, as many restaurants offer fresh, tasty options. For a rainy day, the outlet mall is a great way to spend some hours and save some dollars.

Pros Cons
My husband and I are huge coastal people. We go twice a year and this last stay was our shortest yet, 8 days. When we pulled into the driveway there was a car parked. Thinking it was the cleaning people finishing up (it was 1/2 hour AFTER check-in allowed.) I stayed in the car with our 3 dogs whom were about to blow a gasket, or their bladder. My husband returns and says, "there's some girl on her phone in the house. I walked in. When I told her we were here renting the place she replied, "are you sure you check in today? I am on the phone with the owner now, I am good friends with." I am staring at my husband in disbelief thinking, "Who is this person and why is she here? Why are we sitting in the car and she's in the house?" Needless to say, my dogs are really freaking out now, dying to get in the fenced-in backyard. My husband and I in our car as he fills me in, WAITING for this chick to LEAVE. I rented this place and first off she is questioning our reservation dates...After about 10minutrs she comes out. She again says she "is friends with the owner." So, the house is ideal for a group and a few kids. The upstairs makes it easy to segregate with a tv up there. Perhaps video games because there was no picture. We tried as we had a difficult time with all three of the televisions. Never able to get anything in the master or upstairs. And my husband is pretty savvy when. I had read one review regarding the steep steps. Holy sheet, down to the basement they are steep. One of our dogs dived down😪 Our priorities; fenced in yard (which when the yard maintenance guys were done, they left wide open. Thankfully we noticed). A decent bed. A view. This place provided. The backyard is great. The hot tub a lovely feature. Decent beds/linens. Most basic amenities. The view-top notch. A real fireplace.. I would recommend this home, however, not if you have older dogs and many steps are not an issue.

Great place keeps us coming back!
This is a great house. Good amenities, always clean and beautiful view. We've been coming here for years and always have a wonderful time! Love whale watching from back deck. Pet friendly too! However, the very loose hand railing on front porch steps and towel bar in large bathroom downstairs need repair, hence only 4 stars.

Sweet spacious home
Three small families shared this space. We were able to find everything we needed to have a great time. The kitchen was well stocked, the kids saw whales out in the ocean, the beach was an easy walk. The beds were super comfortable, we all slept like rocks. Would love to stay here again!

Whale Watching was wonderful!
Easy to rent, but housekeeping kept us waiting for 45 minutes past our check in time. He let us in to get settled but he needed to finish up. House was clean but it's older so floors were uneven. Very roomy and comfy beds. Loved sitting on the patio to watch the whales rise! Enjoyed the surfers and paddleboarders too! This house has super steep steps from the garage to the dining room. I would advise if you are bringing someone who does not do stairs well to find another house. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook with. Hottub was nice. Very relaxing!

Nice house, great whale views!
We stayed at this property in mid-July with about 5 people and 2 dogs. This is a great property if you are bringing your dogs. There are 2 separate fenced in areas. If your dogs need a fully fenced yard, you will want to double check that everything is fully fenced before letting them off. There was an area about a foot wide between the glass fence and the deck where a wire fence wasn't really connected. I was in the back with my dogs and next thing I know my dog was on the neighbors deck! We blocked the area with a deck chair and had no other issues. The house itself is nice. There is only a half-bath upstairs, but that makes a great loft area for the kids. There is only 1 tub in the master bath as the other main level bathroom is a standup shower (only an issue for real little kids). I was so excited on our first night when we say whale spouts everywhere! I was not expecting the grey whales to still be in the area in mid-July. The beach access is just down the road and is easy to walk or drive (with ample parking) if you have elderly visitors. Overall, great house and we would recommend.
