Very nice hotel, staff , facilities. Close to train station 10-15 mins inc crossing road. Modern 4 star hotel & as such lacks character. Room was a good size, shower very good

A couple of negatives. Third floor room with no elevator and extra charge of £10 for parking because the booking was not done directly through them

Lovely hotel created from several historic buildings into a modern facility. Very pleasant reception and lounge area with bar. The rooms were clean and to a high standard, roomy and with a good shower room. There is a lot of interesting artwork throughout. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We booked two rooms. Room servicing is only on request, we asked our rooms to be made up each day, sadly our friends room was not properly made up on arrival and servicing of the rooms was a bit hit and miss. We had asked for rooms in a quiet area and our request was honoured. Breakfast was excellent. A minor gripe would be the number of emails received before the stay concerning pre-information on things like breakfast time and pre-booking in and pre-checkout. The location is excellent for walking into central York and in a quiet area. Despite the minor issues with our rooms we would recommend the hotel as a good place to stay.
