Tanjung Aru6 nights4.0 star property8.8/10 - Excellent (40 reviews)"Unfortunately, our stay at The Aru was disappointing. Cleaning was never completed on time, and when the apartment was cleaned, items were regularly missed or left undone. The overhead shower did not work, and we also experienced problems with the hot water. Communication from the staff was poor, with little effort made to keep us updated or resolve the issues. The service felt very cold and unwelcoming. The property has potential, but the maintenance, housekeeping and customer service need..."Reviewed August 24, 2026Roundtrip • Nairobi (NBO) - Kota Kinabalu (BKI)NBO - BKI • 2 stops BKI - NBO • 2 stops$2,160$1,809found 1 day agoper traveler - Hotel O Mount Hill Villa Kundasang

"Staying up in the mountains, you have to accept that you will have insect visitors come in your room. The host gave us a spray to help the insects leave. The host kept our room clean and gave fresh towels. They helped us build our itinerary. I had to have some milk and food for my young kids and they let me use their fridge. Dog was friendly."

"The Resort is set in a stunning location with wonderful views of Mount Kinabalu from the affiliated Restaurant. A stay in one of their 2 longhouses is a must and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The only downside to our stay was that we didn't get to try their famous homemade scones as they are too popular! "
