We spent two nights at the lodge after spending time in whitefish, Waterton Canada and Glacier National Park. It is a beautiful facility and we had a very large king room, fireplace, sink and refridge. It was very rainy and cold so the restaurant, lounge etc were pretty crowded. But service was good and food was tasty. Shuttles run hourly into town and airport shuttles are available.
BUT. We had some maintenance issues with the toilet. We were told maintenance would come right away 4 times in 18 hours and no one came. We had to take the top off the tank and manually flush the toilet by pulling the wire!! After speaking to the manager… again..,they came and basically told my husband we weren’t flushing right so it was our fault. Really? He raised the water level but it continued to have issues. The way it was handled by front desk staff was very concerning. My husband spent much of our time there waiting for maintenance in the room! No one ever checked to see if the issue was resolved. On our last afternoon they asked my husband if we wanted to move rooms. We said no. We did not want to pack everything when we would have to pack early the next morning anyway.
The restaurant, bar, concierge staff were all so friendly and helpful.
The room was cleaned but items we used like sugar and cream were not replaced. One window did not open. For the price we expected better. In fact, it was unacceptable.
