"What a surprise we found at the Athenaeum, a grand hotel from the 19th century, on beautiful Lake Chatauqua. On arrival, we found ourselves entering a gated community spread along the lake shore, with wonderful 19th and 20th century summer homes, within walking distance of the hotel. The entry to the hotel opens into a large traditional open lobby where the front desk sits opposite a wide staircase to the second and third floors, alongside a comfortable bar area where one can order food and cocktails. The rooms were clean and comfortable, which served our needs well. The staff were polite and eager to assist us. It was a wonderful experience to stay at the Athenaeum."

"The house was immaculate during our stay and we appreciated the amenities and the bottle of Prosecco the host left to welcome us. Our only recommendation would be some wine glasses (we spent some time at the local wineries). Otheriwse, thanks for being a great host! "

"We stayed the weekend in early November for a wedding 10 minutes away. Huge house with so much space. We had I’ll come back on the summer for the pool and boating. Host was tremendously responsive and flexible. "

"The property is some distance away from the highway. We were aware of that and enjoyed the peace and quiet the location offered. Property is very nice both inside and out. Easy contact with owner. Reported we could not get the outside grill to light but this did not create an issue for us."
