"We were only there a few hours overnight as we were helping our child come back home after her internship at Chautauqua. Basically a safe place to stay and it was clean . Owner was very friendly when I met him . Would stay again if we ever go to upstate NY again . "

"The resort was absolutely breathtaking and beautifully maintained. It’s a great spot for families, the kids loved swimming and spending time at the playground. While it’s not fully handicap accessible, that wasn’t a major issue for us. One thing I wish they had was a coffee shop open around noon for a mid-day pick-me-up, but overall it was a wonderful place to stay."

"The property grounds were great. The only issue was not their fault, but in late summer, algae blooms are pretty ugly around the waterway. If the algae could be harvested to make the area even more pleasant"

"ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HOME! If you want to be in the middle of all of the Bemus activity, this location and immaculate home is the perfect spot for you! I could not give any VRBO any higher rating than this Bemus home. Perfect for relaxing on the porch or dining on the little patio area - it's just the perfect home for gathering! The owners, Debra and Rick, and their staff, went out of their way, over and above, to make sure, even a last minute schedule adjustment, was accommodated with grace and understanding. "When arriving on the property there was a groups of people smoking and drinking had to walk around them. There were kids playing everywhere. I sure they are permanent residents at the inn. When I first entered the Inn check-in there were many flies at the front desk the employee would swat them away. Not something one wants to be walking to especially on vacation. I was on the second floor and the stairs up were covered in dried rice. It stayed like that what felt like all day. The room itself felt dirty, I had the baseboard peeling in one corner of the room. My bed sheets and random spots of yellow. My key card demagnetized whenever I left my room so I had to repeatedly ask to get it fixed just to be able to Exeter my room. The built in bathroom light didn’t work and there was a lamp I had to use instead. And many screaming kids at all moments of the day especially at night. If you want a quiet time at night to rest this is definitely not the place to stay. "

"This house was comfortable and gorgeous! Our kids and dogs loved seeing the birds and even a beaver off the dock. The fire pit right on the water hit the spot on a beautiful evening. There were toys for the kids and extra supplies for everyone. It’s literally right around the corner from Lucille Ball’s childhood home as well. Fantastic location! Fantastic hosts! Gorgeous house! "The place is lovely, as are the hosts. The space is immaculate, and nicely appointed. The hosts have stocked it with 85% of the “stuff to bring just in case” - blankets, pillows, anything cooking- and coffee-related, even a couple of bikes. It’s not on the water, but is very centrally located. You can walk to “downtown” Bemus in 7-8 minutes (or drive in one), where there are a number of excellent restaurants and shops. I would mention any negatives, but I really can’t think of any. Great place. Highly recommended. "

"House was perfect for a group of 30-year-olds. Lots to do and loved the access to kayaks. Fire pit was ready to go so all we had to do was light it - a nice gesture on the part of the owner. Queen bed was very comfortable. "

"Great place! Stayed for a night after a concert at Chautauqua. Had all the amenities we needed and excellent layout to accommodate all of us. We couldn't have asked for more!"

"Fabulous cottage for both adults and children. It is clean and stocked well with everything you need. Plenty of fans for the hotter days and lots of space to play outside in the yard or in the water. There is a little roadside fruit stand/market near to restock on local produce, eggs, and more. Anything you could want to do is either a short drive or boat ride. We were very impressed and will definitely be back."

"When I arrived at the Butler House, the owner (MK) informed me that it was actually closed for renovations. Expedia had been repeatedly informed of this but continued, nonetheless, to book reservations for guests! MK was very apologetic and offered me accommodation in the camper beside the house. It looked to be very comfortable and roomy, and had a relatively large fridge, so I accepted. Never regretted the decision. It was so quiet and cool in the evenings that I slept very soundly, and the location is totally pastoral and scenic. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. "
