"We had a wonderful five-night stay this August. The house was lovely and clean. The kitchen had what we needed (e.g. appliances, pots, cutting boards, containers for leftovers). The game room was great--we did not use it as much as I thought we might but that was because the weather was so good we spent most of our time at the lake!If you are thinking of staying here, a few things it is useful to know:1. The lake is very clear. The DNR website I found listed it as somewhat clear, but it was very clear. Look down from the house windows and see fish swimming in the shallows clear. 2. The lake is fairly shallow a fair way out (which could be particularly nice if you have young children). The bottom at this property is sandy.3. There is a boat launch not far from the property. If you had kayaks, this would be a great lake to kayak and launching from the boat launch would be easy. On the other hand, we simply used the two paddleboards and enjoyed that a lot.4. As the pictures show, there are a lot of steps from the lake to the house. The steps are solid and easy to navigate. There area railings on both sides the whole way up.5. Randy was great to work with. He called while we were on our way with some additional helpful information about the house and to answer any questions we had. He was also very responsive to texts while we were at the property (we had a couple of questions about where to find things).We would definitely return to this place!"

"We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful place on a quiet private lake. There was plenty of room for our group of 4 adults and 2 children. It was very clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The sandy beach was awesome and the kids had a blast swimming, and playing in the sand. An added bonus was the pontoon available to rent. We used it a lot. Caught some bass, a small Northern, and sunfish. Thank you, Gary and Linda!"

"Great family weekend on the lake! Space for everyone. Enjoyed using the canoe and 2 kayaks with easy access into the water. Walk out basement provided shelter and yard game space for a rainy morning. Had everything we needed for a weekend of fun! "

"Grandpa and granddaughter loved their fishing adventures. Didn’t catch anything big but just enjoyed it. Kitchen was well supplied with most everything one could want. Only hiccup was finding which light switch turned on which light. Clothes dryer had just died so had to explore other methods to dry clothes needed. Neighborhood was so calm and peaceful. Enjoyed reading by the lake and having our meals outside on the patio. "

"My wife and I and our adult son stayed 10 nights in July/August for a nearby family gathering. The lodge was beautiful, spacious (bigger than we needed!), clean, comfortable, quiet and very well equipped -- we were easily able to prepare lasagne for 14 in the kitchen. The location is quiet with convenient access to nearby activities and amenities, but it all requires some driving. Unfortunately a combination of heat and Canadian wildfire smoke kept us from enjoying the extensive outside spaces much, but the AC system was a lifesaver. Communication and logistics were seamless.Our only real concern was that the water, though conditioned and tested, smelled a bit off, and left some orange iron stains on white items when we did laundry."

"Beautiful property. Can't think of a thing the house didn't have readily available. Kids enjoyed fishing every day, and then spent all their cash at the bait shop and candy store in Hayward. The Fishing Hall of Fame and mini golf were great diversions when it was a little too windy for fishing or paddling. Excellent communication with the host throughout. Highly recommend this property for a wonderful lakeside retreat."

The beach and lake access at Little Bear Lake was perfect for our paddleboards, kayak and swimming.wish they had a few beach towels available."
