"This is a budget hotel. If you want a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom, then it’s for you. If you want space and luxury, then it’s not. We’re the kind of travellers who just need a bed , a bathroom and a good breakfast (if possible), so the Smarthotel suited us very well. The buffet breakfast offered plenty of choice and was good value and the property was centrally located, and convenient for many of the sites, bars, restaurants and also buses. There was a spacious lounge on the ground floor where residents could sit, read, play games and eat The only real downside was the room reminded me a bit of a student hall room, with the bed against one wall and a desk on the other."

"This is a very modern hotel. The rooms are very well laid out. Breakfast was over the top fantastic. I couldn’t even believe that it was included with our room. Excellent location very close to the harbor. Walking distance to the main street Tromso. The view from the rooftop is fantastic and when you check in if you can get them to place you on the higher floors, you’ll have some beautiful views of the harbor area. Bottom line I would stay at this hotel again."

"No parking or bag/guest drop off spot, room overly warm with only able to slightly open the window on 5th floor. Self-checkin was quick and directions to make your key card self-explanatory, food/drink counter has service person that was helpful. Parking is very expensive in public underground garage near the hotel up to 450NOK/day or 40NOK/hr."

"This is an amazing place. Right on the Harbour and you can see the boats at the harbour from your window. The staff was extremely kind and very helpful. In particular, Edda (?) was an example of what this service should be. To top it off, breakfast afternoon, coffee/tea, and dinner were all free. This Home Hotel would get my top recommendation."

"Great location in the town center close to the airport bus stop. Breakfast was one of the best we have had in our travels. Only downside was the amenities, as there was only one sort of shampoo/hand wash/ body wash in the bathroom, and there was no coffee machine in the room. But such small issues were not enough to lower our 5 star review:)!"
