Good location

Posted Aug 15, 2016
The hotel is in great location as it's just in the city and very close to main station to airport and to reach the city's attractions. We were very disappointed with the smell of cigarette in the room (we had to leave window open to get rid of it) and my husband developed an allergy from the bed and couldn't sleep well also because of mosquitoes. We barely stayed, apart from overnight so it didn't bother much but was definitely disappointing.

Run-down hotel mostly a disappointment

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: The front desk staff, who were very accommodating despite stressful circumstances.
Cons: The hotel needs to be renovated --it is shabby and in disrepair, both in lobby and guest room.
Location: Close to Charles de Gaulle airport.
While the young woman at the front desk was very hospitable and helpful in spite of being very harried due to dealing with an oversold hotel and therfore unhappy hopeful guests, the hotel itself showed signs of wear and tear almost everywhere you looked. Our room did have two beds as requested, but one was a sleeper sofa with a broken frame, rendering it useless. The room was acceptably clean, but in disrepair, with only one small, thin square of gooey soap in the bathroom. The decor looked like it hadn't been updated since the '70s, which would have been fine if it had been kept-up and repaired where needed.

Good base for Lyon

Good place to stay. We had an appartment which was great but very noisy with constant trains through Part-Dieu and some noisy neighbours on the roof top balconies.

Filthy carpet, paint peeling off the walls, black grouting ! All for 135GBP. Disgusting.

Good basic and functional accommodation for a business trip

Posted Dec 2, 2011
Location: Near to the main train, tram and metro of Part Dieu - so good for getting around the city.
Very functional and easy to go to from the airport. The room was a little tired; fixtures and fittings were basic; it could do with some fresh paint.

Ok place, not the best area

Posted Sep 12, 2011
Location is ok, but better if you are staying for a long time since it is a little on the outskirts. Comfort is ok for what you pay. Major drawback was having to wait over an hour to check in because staff were on lunch.

Not the best, but alright

Posted Jul 10, 2010
The hotel, for its price, was adequate. As it was an apart-hotel, rather than a hotel, the room was small. It was private. No one came in during the stay to clean up the room or to refresh the towels. Cleanliness of the room was similar to a college dorm, dirty carpet, dingy but adequate bathroom. The refrigerator worked well. Breakfast is not included, and the fee was not proportionate to the options. Hotel was located within 10 minutes walk of Gare Lyon Part Dieu. Walking to hotel from gare is faster than taking the tram. Staff was knowledgeable but somewhat indifferent.

Good hotel

This is a good hotel/apartment for the price. You have a kitchenette which is handy. Bus transportation across the street and train station within walking distance. Place is clean and staff at the desk and breakfast room very helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast is very good and place is nice.

Average Hotel

This hotel was a good base to see lyon being close to the main train station, and the metro. The room was basic but with a well equiped kitchen and there was a mini mart just across from the hotel. The hotel was quiet and secure.

You get what you pay for!

Don't let the word hotel fool you, for this is certainly no hotel...it's more like an inner city block of flats with rooms for rent by the night. We arrived in the dead of night and would never have found it were it not for the taxi driver as there's no real entrance to speak of. There's also no reception desk and so we had to phone a number stuck on the door for an access code. Once inside, the room was very basic, with uncomfortable camp style beds and itchy blankets. By all means stay here if you are looking for a cheap place to lay your head, but don't expect much!
