Close to walking to retiro, around Salamanca, and very close to red line. There is AC in the living room but it did not quite reach all the way to the bedrooms, so it was a quite toasty night for an American used to AC. There is not a dryer despite the listing saying there is one, but there are clotheslines to dry your clothes which is common in Spain. The fridge also did not work. I would recommend for the host to put a few electric fans in the bedrooms to ensure cool air circulation. ##### Natalie S. Metro stations are close and it takes just a few minutes to get to tourist sites like the Sol plaza and the Royal Palace but is far enough away to get away from to tourist crowds. Using transit to and from the airport is easy and cheap as well. The condition of the apartment is a little rough but not bad. Cleanliness could be a little better. Some of the electrical sockets and switches should be changed out or tightened up.
