“This property is fantasic & such a great location with just a short journey into both Margate & Ramsgate. The house is in a lovely condition & beautifully furnished, with plenty to do there too. We had 9 adults staying there for a 40th Birthday celebration & we had such s great time. I would thoroughly recommend booking a stay here.”

“Loved this no frills historic hotel. No fuss - just texted me door code to the room, which was all in perfect order. The hotel is just opposite Deal's beautiful beach - if you get a sea view room you'll catch the sunrise. Great work by the hotel owners - shows you can run an historic hotel in a great location but still make it affordable to all visitors”

“Bright and cosy stay in a one bed flat in a small terraced house. Lively high ceilings and view to the sea through the baw windows. It's not a luxury hotel! - but was functional, clean and a great option for a weekend at a festival in neighbouring town Margate. “Although the accommodation is small it has everything you need and plenty of storage. We only used the kettle and toaster in the kitchenette but there was a hot plate and microwave too so we could have cooked if we wanted. The garden is a lovely place to sit and hidden from the road (cul de sac) by bushes. It’s not the sort of place you’d spend the whole day in due to its size but that is reflected in the price so it’s perfect for a short stay where one might be out for most of the day. However……

“We are a group of 8 ladies enjoying a weekend away and we had a wonderful weekend at Downs Cottage. The property was perfect… comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful decor, superb location, sauna was a bonus and the garden was very pretty. Deal itself was a very welcoming town, friendly people. We’d recommend Margarita’s for take away pizza and Mike’s Bikes for cycle hire. Walking distance into Deal from the cottage was about 30mins, which along the seafront was no time at all. “My husband and I just spent 3 weeks in Ric's beautiful Whitstable cottage. It had lovely details, sometimes overlooked by other rentals, such a Sonos and Smart TV. Location was perfect for strolls to town for restaurants, pubs and shopping. The train was just minutes away making visits to London and surrounding areas a dream. With the friendly Fountain Local acrross the street, a comfortable cottage with all the amenities and the best host for communication, what more could ask for. Thanks Ric……

“Das kleine Häuschen in dem sehr netten familiären Chalet Park hat uns super gefallen. Man hat einen tollen Blick aufs Meer und muss nur ein paar Meter die Straße runter laufen zum Meer. Das Haus hat alles was man benötigt von Backofen über Mikrowelle und es gibt tolle Spielmöglichkeiten für die Kinder. Der Pool war leider geschlossen, dafür haben wir den Tennisplatz und den Minigolf Platz genutzt. Wir kommen gerne wieder ganz lieben Dank. !”

“The property was not the standard I expect of Expedia. The heating was on a schedule such that at night the temperature in the house was around 6 degrees giving me a backache until I asked the owner to keep the temperature at a constant 23 degrees. There no toiletries provided till I asked the owner to provide them. There was only one bowl for porridge until I asked for more of the owner. “The property was of an ideal size for us and our 15 months baby. It is very quite, surrounded by fruit trees orchards and farm fields.
Despite arriving later than expected, Steve was present to welcome us and brief us on the house an surroundings.
The cottage is in good condition, especially the kitchen and bathroom that look almost new. The kitchen is very well equipped.

Lovely, Clean, New Hotel with a rich history
"The hotel has recently been refurbished but still has the ‘old’ side which you can select the room for stay if you are interested in this historic experience. Those rooms will be available for cheaper prices as well. I chose to stay at the ‘newer’ side for my accommodation this time as they are usually more comfortable for a good night sleep. I was correct and the room looks amazing and spacious too! What a wonderful refurbishment with great designs. Staff were also very helpful and friendly with the hospitality service. Their breakfast or dining area seems lovely although I took it outside instead as there’s so much to do and eat outside the hotel as well. I would loved to stay here once again if I come round for a visit once again. "
