Authentic And Charming Little Cottage 60 Ft From The Ocean

A beautiful cottage is awaiting you on Grassy Key. Built in the original Keys architecture, the cottage is free standing with windows on all sides. The efficiency holds true to its name as it is small, but very functional. Being a stone's throw away from the ocean you can enjoy partial ocean views from your bed on the west and from your dining table on the east. It offers everything you need for a good night's sleep, a refreshing shower and a good breakfast before you start your day in tropical paradise.

After a day full of adventures don't forget to relax at our oceanfront tiki and hammock. From here there is no telling what wildlife might amaze you. If marveling at the beauty of the ocean from the shore doesn't satisfy your fascination for the ocean, then treat yourself to an outing on one of our kayaks. Head for the nearby rock ruins and be prepared to see many dazzling fish.

In our neighborhood, Tursi, Gambit and friends are waiting to put on a show for you at the Dolphin Research Center. Home to Flipper in the 60's, DRC is located 1/4 of a mile from the property.

One mile south of us is Curry Hammock State Park. Ten miles north is Long Key State Park. Both have wonderful ocean access and trails.

Three miles out to sea is marker 45, a nice place to fish mangrove and yellowtail snappers, and a few more miles South is Coffin's Patch Reef, a delightful protected area to dive or snorkel. Both locations are a few minutes away by boat from the property.

These are merely suggestions in addition to all the wonderful things that are yours to discover throughout the Florida Keys.

Peaceful and relaxing!
Cottage was very clean and comfortable. Host was amazing and very accommodating! Private beach was a plus and relaxing. Love that this was adult only and non smoking property, which includes a gas grill. The location was central and great for day trips in both upper and lower keys. Would definitely book here on my next trip! We are not condo people so this was perfect! Quaint historic Florida style!

Not quite as expected.
Please NOTE, there is no beach here. Only a breakwall and a boat dock. Pictures and description makes you believe it has a beach. The grounds were found to be very unkept with piles of leaves on one side and old boats laying around the property. The tiki hut seen in the pictures is just about to fall apart, you can see the sky out the roof. The house itself was functional but in need of some help. Seemed to us the owners gave up, but are still willing to take your rent. The laundry was under a lean-to, outside, and nothing we would ever use. The price was right, but we got what we paid for, a place to sleep.

Jackpot location for a relaxing Keys vacation
My new wife and I stayed at Bill and Isabelle’s cottage for our honeymoon. We stayed in the house for 9 nights and it was a blast! The house is just exactly what we needed. We stayed in a hotel our first night in Florida and this was much much better. The property is quiet and peaceful. We loved taking advantage of the kayaks to explore the mangroves which were not far away. We really felt that this house was in the perfect location for anyone who wants to experience the outdoor beauty of the keys. If we ever return to the keys, we’ll definitely give Bill, Isabelle, and Heather a call!

Perfect getaway…
This cottage was adorable to start, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in the Keys. We snorkeled and waded right in front of the property and saw dolphins cruising by each morning at sunrise. The AC worked great and we had ample comfort to relax watching TV on the rainy days. The location was perfect as it was close to everything, we never had to drive far to go shopping, boating, snorkeling, beach, etc. The owners were very nice and accommodating, keeping contact with us throughout. We used the kayaks and paddle board they provided and had lots of fun. We will definitely be returning!

We had such an awesome time! The water was beautiful and clear/shallow most of the time which made for excellent kayaking! Was a tiny bit disappointed when we pulled up as this is truly just a tiny shack behind another large oceanfront home(pictures dont show the house between you and the ocean). You also have to share tiki hut with other renters. But it ended up being perfect for 2 people just to sleep and spend the days out on the water! Things I would add to make it better: hot water wouldnt work some days, more than 2 washcloths/towels, and a blender. We loved staying here and hope to be back! -The Bordens

This is a beautiful location. The cottage is small and cosy. The ocean is just a few steps away. We were greeted by our delightful host and immediately felt welcome. Access is easy to grocery store and restaurants and to all the Keys has to offer. The sargassum seaweed was an unfortunate presence for this year but we would not hesitate to return once this season has passed.

This is a very cool little cottage. very simple and functional but everything I needed for an awesome week. Perfect location and awesome access to the ocean side. Mattress was awful. Flat pillows, no extras. No headboard. Only one night table and lamp; both of us like to read at night. The one night table has a top drawer that falls out when you pull it out so it can't be used. NO hairblower, a necessity. It's at least 20 years since I've had to bring my own blower any where. Hard to get into closet that had shelves that were too low. Beautiful location. and scenery.

This cottage is perfect for 2! With a few rentals on the spacious waterfront property, we easily enjoyed the quiet, private surroundings. There is a bbq located near each unit, as well as a hot plate and microwave inside for cooking. We also appreciated our hosts offer of kayaks and various beach items. Our hosts were thoughtful and caring with their accommodations. Overall a great stay in a great location!

Pictures were not up to date in comparison to what the property actually was. I understand there was a hurricane but seriously...the entire property looked like a junk yard. The bed was like sleeping on the floor. We tried it for two nights and ended up going to a hotel. We were out that money but the hotel was much more comfortable and easier on my husband with his back issues. The owners were very nice I just wish the property was better. Very dissatisfied.

Nothing short of a mini paradise!
If we could give this property and hosts more than 5 stars, we would. Pictures do not give this place the justice it deserves. My wife and I spent a week here for our honeymoon and the cottage was perfect for the 2 of us. The view is absolutely beautiful. We had the pleasure of meeting Bill and Isabelle. They were the greatest hosts! Had so many recommendations as to where to go and what to see. Isabelle spent an hour or so chatting with us on the sea wall and gave us a little bit of history behind the property. This was our first time in the Keys but it most certainly will not be our last. The hospitality here is top notch!
