Hotel was priced fairly. Rooms were a little older and in need of some upgrades. (Toilet ran off and on; bathroom door wouldn't always close; older lamps (no USB); tile floor in hallway echoed noise and conversations significantly. Exterior access doors to building weren't locked.

We were lucky to have Jon the NPS ranger at the 2 PM ranger led walk. He was very good, explained everything clearly and kept our attention. unfortunately there are only 2 ranger walks per day 10 am and 2 pm.

Amazing!! Don’t go on just the loop walk if you are able to do more. You will miss out on a lot. Go early!! They limit the number of people in there and it will be full and you won’t get in at all.

This is lovely BUT I don't think its really worth the 1hr 15 min drive from the valley and back. (I was staying near the valley in El Portal). If you're nearby or it's in your route I recommend going. You have to park and take a shuttle into the grove (2 miles from the parking lot, or you can hike in- there's a trail)

Worth the drive but allow time for the shuttle from parking to the Giants Loop hike (walk) and it was lovely.
