The owner Barry is a delightful human and so kind. The office has snacks available for most of the day. Which is great if you can't get service at the local tavern or restaurant apres ski, like we couldn't. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were cozy and warm.

Staff super friendly and provided us with generous amount of snack/food. They’ve renovated an old motel so everything feels new. The walls are thin and rooms are small but having a fridge and microwave was super nice. Our family enjoyed staying here for going to Kirkwood skiing trip.

Beautiful newly renovated property
The Woodfords Inn is a lovingly renovated property. It is clear that the owner has a vision for what a nice, modern motel stay should be. The flooring is new, there are beautiful red Galanz fridge/freezers and matching microwaves. The new bedspreads are soft, fuzzy and warm. The towels are even embroidered with the inn's name. The host showed me to my room to demonstrate the use of the key. Breakfast is continental: yogurt, croissants, cereal, candy :-). Good variety of k-cup coffees.

Convenient location and nice property. Friendly front desk and generous supply of water, coffee and light snack at the front desk. I think the price is convenient. We liked the place and are coming back. At the time of our stay, people who were staying downstairs were so loud till late night and I could not sleep well. This is not property issue and I hope guests would be a little more sensible.

Zero soundproof
the soundproofing was a major letdown. Had a hard time sleeping due to loud neighbors partying in the next room until midnight. Expected a more peaceful stay. Hope they address this for future guests.

They have worked very hard to renovate and the inn looks very nice. Cozy and comfortable. Floors in our room were very creaky but other than that a very nice quiet place to stay.

Two flat sheets were used instead of using one fitted. The bottom sheet didn’t stay taut. Top sheet felt almost like plastic.

Don't bother staying here
Put it this way I wont ever stay there again. Im a70yo woman and they put me on top floor as far away from the stairs as you could get. No coffe maker in the room and all the shampoo etc. Had been used by prior guests.

there was only myself and one other person staying there. They put him above me the noise wasn't appreciated. The previous managers wouldn't do this.

This guest was on the top floor that you are referering to has been there for over a week so unfortunately you came after him. So as you stated we did not intentionally do this deliberately. We are sorry if he made noise, however, it is impossible for us to correct any issues if we were not notified until now though a post. We want each of our guests to experience a good stay with us. To imply we had an agenda to purposely impose this situation upon you is not appreciated.

Really bad experience! No hot water, and they didn’t call us and let us know before we checked in. If we know ahead, we won’t even be there. And there is no kettle in the room, I send my little brother to ask for bottles of water. (They have piles of bottle water in the reception room) but the front desk lady refused to give my brother a bottle, also refuse to offer a kettle even they have it. I would definitely not recommend this place, so terrible!

We had an emergency and had to call the gas company shortly before your arrival due to a strong oder in the the parking lot of gas and they suggested to turn off the gas for safety concerns. We couldn't have contacted you before your arrival³at 9:30 past our breakfast Room hours between 6 am - 10am. We do not offer kettles to heat water in our rooms and only offer the kettle and coffee only in the morning. We also explain the hours of the breakfast room.during check in. However, we have many guests expect to use this area at all hours no matter what is posted or said. Our receptionist even had 2 bottles of water in her had to give to you and was trying to explain the hours we open the room in the morning. We are sorry for the misunderstanding and have not experienced this ever before and will change the hours of the breakfast room to reflect on our website so guests can better know what to expect that the breakfast will be available during morning hours only. As for the gas and hot water. The emergency situation has already has been resolved. Most guests understand and try to work together with us.

When we checked in at night - we were told the heater in our room was very loud. They apologized and brought extra blankets. They were right it was very loud. So loud there’s no way my family could sleep with it on. So we turned it off and our room was so cold I had to sleep wearing a hat. Then at 5 am the heater suddenly turned on and woke us all up. I will not stay here again. There’s no way anyone can sleep with how loud that heater was. The alternative of freezing in the room is unacceptable in the middle of winter.

We were sorry to hear about the loud heater and feel a couple of things were failed to be mentioned. In the fact we offered another portable heater for the room and also many blankets as well. The entire room was refunded the full amoun for the inconvenience of using the other heater and the noise. The entire Inn has been remodeled to included all heating and air conditioning units, however even new items sometimes fail and need to be fixed. We are very sorry to have any guest uncomfortable.

Room is furnished with 5ft fridge and microwave. Room is cozy and has a big TV for days when your snowed in. Cute little room enough for two people with queen bed.

Cozy,wooden rooms eith a nice size refrigerator and microwave. The place is far away from any food options and no snacks for sale after breakfast. The town closest shuts down all resteraunts by 3pm and closed many days during the week.

Thank you for being our guests. There are a few restaurants and and general store in Markleeville, which is about a 6 min drive and also another general store and deli within a 1 minute drive for the Inn. We are sorry we only serve breakfast at this time.

I loved everything from the friendly welcoming to the treats, and the clean-smell good room. For the breakfast I would have loved some fruit, maybe some eggs, but other than that it was a great experience.

I thought it would be quiet out in the woods!
Arrived late (but still within stated check in time) to a unwelcoming front desk clerk. Loud AC, but the real gripe was the loud movie and talking that went on until 1:30am. I don’t think there were any guests next to me on either side, so I assume the noise was from the owners section in the rear of the hotel. Granted it was Sat night but 1:30am is too late for this. Breakfast was assorted pastries in cellophane wrappers. Coffee was good. $330 plus for this experience was a bit much.

Beautiful Place
Beautiful experience safe and welcoming everything was real clean. I will come back is just 30 min away from South Lake Tahoe but the drive and the view from the hotel is breathtaking.

Overall the place looks great. It seems like there was a recent remodel and there is a lot of great details. A few things here and there seem more in progress. I would definitely like to come back to see how things look when the outdoor space is a bit more finished.
