The owner/proprietor was very friendly. I liked the assortment of snacks and items in the lobby that were offered for free. If we had more time, we would have liked to have used the bbqs and picnic tables on the grounds. Loved the full-sized refrigerator—freezer in the room. And plenty of room to park our SUV with 20 ft Airstream trailer.

A welcoming place with a generous morning spread, touched with a bit of Korean flavor on the side. It’s the only spot in the area offering full AC comfort, and just a quick 30‑minute drive from South Lake.

This is a cute little hotel that appears to have been renovated recently. The rooms have small vintage style refrigerator and microwave, nice, soft bedding and a cute wooden table and bed. It felt more like staying in a cabin than a hotel. The man running the front office was very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely come back.

We had a really delightful stay. The owners recently updated the place with great care and taste. Place was very clean. Owners were very friendly. Setting is picturesque. Would definitely stay again.

The property is in the middle of nowhere which is nice. The WiFi is terrible. Couldn’t even watch a 2 hour movie without it cutting out multiple times. I had a dog with me, it was $40 charge per night which I knew. However the old man at the front desk said I had to have cash, which I did not. I went to Markleeville with hopes of finding an ATM. There wasn’t one (Friday at 7:30PM) went back and he asked me to stay until 9 am the next day when the nearby deli opens. He finally figured out how to charge my husbands card. Bed/pillows comfy. Room floor could have been cleaner. For the price, I wouldn’t go back.

Great choice for us. Good location near Markleeville and surrounding area. Easy to find. Friendly proprietor. The room was comfortable. A couple of small things to mention: (1) The lamp between the beds would not turn on or off. One had to unplug it. (2) One of plugs in the outlet on the inside of the wall facing parking lot was dead. If we are luckly enough to reutrn to Markeeville, I will certainly prioritize staying there.

The building is quaint and suits the environment. At face value it’s what you paid for. What gets the negative feedback is the scrap pile area at the end of the building which happened to be the other side of the wall of my room that is random debris and extra items , I know it’s out in the country but get a storage bin or conex box. The room again is quant, but instantly began to notice the numerous amount of insects, again in the country, high sierras, pretty expected to have a bug or two, literal spiders and webs in all corners of the room and what I suspect was a black widow in the drain of the shower, also a beautiful millipede at the foot of the sink, needless to say I was concerned for my kids and wife walking barefoot. The breakfast was just packaged goods and cereal. Definitely no fresh food . Plus the tub floor was stained from grime. Not what you expect when you pay nearly $300 for one night stay.
