Nice stay

Posted Sep 17, 2016
Pros: The grounds, pools, location. Nice views out
Cons: The rooms and buildings are tired
Location: Can do anything you want near by, snorkel, surf, paddle board etc. The town of Lahaina is close, shops and restaurants. Another within walking distan
The hotel has beautiful grounds, pools and is right on the ocean, Kanapali beach. They were doing some renovation and construction and this was not mentioned by Expedia or the hotel. One restaurant, the Swan court that I liked, was closed for three weeks but opened the day before we left. The rooms are tired, lots of people visit and it is showing the wear and tear. Decent value compared to some resorts. The spa is nice but expensive. Restaurants are expensive too.

Nice hotel, great location

Posted Sep 16, 2016
Pros: Location & pool
Cons: Customer service thruout the various departments
Location: Close to whalers village and Lahaina
Nice all around hotel:great location, secluded yet close to everything; japengo restaurant served delicious dishes and was one of our best dining choices for the food and location; animals were a nice addition to the property; pool is wonderful; lastly, the Hyatt club lounge was great. The only negatives were the hotel was under construction and we didn't know; after voicing our disappointment, the staff was understanding and offered a discount; The rest of the staff was not as professional and accommodating as we would have liked; from the valet to the bell men, the excursions staff desk and even the waiters in the japengo restaurant were lacking a level of customer service that should be expected.

Lahaina Tower needs updating.

Posted Sep 15, 2016
The hotel is showing age. Both the shower curtain and the window curtain were dirty. The bathroom was dingy and the room had an over deodorized smell. The pool and restaurant Japengo are still excellent.

目の前の海は泳ぐには若干波が強い。 ホテルの規模の割にはレストランが少ない。 朝食ビュッフェ、もう少しメニューを増やして欲しい。 レストランの料理は美味しい。

Fantastic location, beautiful grounds

Posted Sep 13, 2016
Loved our stay at the Hyatt, exceptional staff, especially the breakfast buffet hosts and servers. Had an upgraded water view room. Excellent dinner at Japengo. The grounds are spectacular. The resort fee is high, happy hours on the premises are only one hour compared to 2 or 3 hours elsewhere. The hotel and rooms are in need of updating. All in all, though, a wonderful stay.

Beautiful hotel right by the beach

Posted Sep 13, 2016
We had a wonderful stay at Hyatt and actually spent most of our time in the resort - luau, poolside cabanas, beach activities, spa... Even the room service has good food! The hotel staff are courteous and goes above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. We had a corner room with ocean view and 2 balconies, which gave us the perfect view of paradise. The only gripe is the construction going on in the hotel premises.

Airy hotel by the beach

Posted Sep 13, 2016
Location: Lots of activities, you name it.
We arrived around noon, a few hours before the check-in time. Instead of being told to wait for our resort view room being cleaned, the front desk gave us an upgrade to a partial ocean view. Later that night we found we could even watch the Drum of the Pacific Lu'au from our balcony. The hotel is very airy with lots of beautiful architectural details, especially the tropical rain forest styled landscape. A few steps down to the beach is the sunny Maui west coast beach, a few steps back to the inside of the hotel is a relaxing garden where swans swim. Also I would like to mention the JapenGo restaurant. I thought it's just another expensive restaurant you see on every trip. No. JapenGo offers best sushi, seriously. My teen daughter has been refusing to eat sushi all along, but she took two pieces there.

Nice hotel close to beach

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: 0
Cons: Provide information on construction prior to accepting a reservation.
Location: Good walking distance to other hotels and restaurants. Need a cab or car to get into Lahaina for other activities
Hotel is nice, but there was a lot of construction on property. Our room was to be an ocean view but we overlooked a roof. The hotel would not reassign our room since we booked thru Expedia. That was crappy! Pools/slide were great for my 5 year old grandson. Not much beach access as shoreline is very small. Could not rent lounge chairs or umbrellas for beach. All restaurants and pool services were very expensive, but that is Hawaii. Staff would not accommodate a late check out due to late flight and all lockers at the pool area were taken. It was a hassle to go thru the bell desk for our bags throughout the day. Also a cab to the airport was never arranged and I had to speak with 4 different people the night we left to get a cab there for pick up. There is no free shuttle into Lahaina as we were told.

First Maui vacay

Posted Sep 12, 2016
After my stay in Waikiki, it felt like a down grade in Maui. The hotel was under construction so lots of dust and noise. The parking situation was terrible, we had difficulty entering and exiting because the key card didn't work properly. On top of that it was difficult to find a spot and the spaces were too small.

Beautiful grounds

Posted Sep 11, 2016
I would have rated this hotel as excellent if it weren't for the curtains on the balcony. They were ripped to shreds and filthy. It looked as if there was an attempt to repair them with very heavy thread which made them look worse. I asked the front desk if they could be replaced. I was told that they could try again to repair them but they didn't have a replacement. For what we paid for this hotel is expected better.
