"We had a wonderful stay at Bab Gammon. The house is very spacious and beautifully decorated. Since we travelled with younger children in February, the heated pool was a great choice for us. With two cats and five turtoises in the garden, staying in for the day didn’t get boring. Said and Aziza, who are the caretakers of this property prepared a wonderful breakfast every day and dinners of our choosing. The beef Tajine was absolutely phenomenal! "We rented the property for four nights. The property was covered in dust. The pool was coverd with dirt, pool black worms and dead bugs. Our kids didn't feel safe to swim of course. I reminded the host frequently to come and clean. Finally, the pool was cleaned somehow by the third day. The interior of the house was dusty- spiders and Cocroaches everywhere. The rate wasn't cheap an I came to enjoy my stay not to worry about the property condition or the host's rudness. Please, if you're not...

"This was an amazing stay Jamal and his wife go all out to give guests a great experience- nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is huge with a big selection of different items. The pool was an added bonus. The lady who cooks (sorry I don’t recall her name) is friendly and helpful as well as a good cook! It’s a few miles/kilometres out of Essaouira so a car is probably preferable but if you want a fab place to stay that is peaceful, calm and clean then this is the place for you! I will certainly return there if I visit Essaouira again. I just enjoyed chilling out by the pool and popping into Essaouira late afternoon/early evening. If I had one tiny criticism it’s about the coffee- I drink loads every day and if they’d invest in a proper coffee machine that would be an 11/10! However the fantastic Tea Royal more than made up for the lack of coffee machine! Merci Beaucoup. A la prochaine! "

"Perfect holiday! Beautiful house - lots of space and beautifully designed. The swimming pool was an absolute delight and the tortoises in the garden were a hit with everyone. To top it all, Said and Samira’s warmth and helpfulness was second to none. Samira cooked us some fantastic meals that made the holiday so special. We would highly recommend and would love to return. "A superb Villa, large, we equipped, enough space for the 14 of us (including a 3Month old baby). Pascale was an absolute star as a host, helped with all aspects of our stay. From transfers to arranging the masseuse. The staff were amazing, Miriam and Amina gave us some delicious traditional meals ( as well as something a little more familiar for the kids). The housekeeper and the guys looking after the villa were all very friendly and helpful, from the time we arrived all the way through to our early morning departure. Nothing negative from us, 5 Star, all the way."

"The hotel was not good. The towels were shockingly old, the pillows REALLY old and the rooms uncomfortable. The whole stay was uncomfortable and shockingly bad for the price they were charging. The service was incredible. Mohammed was amazing. But I feel the owners of Villa Daba whom we never saw must be overcharging and letting the hotel go into disarray. The conditions of the room were shockingly old. I've never in my life seen pillows like this, or towels this old. If you're charging this much and insisting on cash payment, you must provide items not from decades ago. Also, it's not Essaouira. It's deceiving. Everywhere it says Villa Daba Essaouira. But it's 15 min from Essaouira. There is nothing close. Nothing. And the villa only offers a breakfast and that's it. The rooms are really hot and became insufferable at night, you can't open windows, no screens and lots of bugs. Tourist trap. We got a really bad rash from the pool and shower gel. Avoid."
