Hoedspruit5 nights5.0 star property9.6/10 - Exceptional (68 reviews)"We had a great stay at AM Lodge. Shepherd helped carefully coordinate logistics regarding pickups, meals, and even an excursion to Kruger National Park. Benjamin was an outstanding guide for our morning and evening game rides, looking for paw prints and signs taking us to lions, giraffes, rhinos, impala, zebras, and more - seeing animals up close was an amazing experience! Our accommodations (Superior Suite #8) overseeing the reserve had a phenomenal view of the river and nearby mountains. All the staff were kind, helpful and nothing was an issue to them. We had read reviews saying the food was good but we were pleasantly surprised with how good! Every meal we had was great, especially as we were lucky enough to have braai for two evening meals."Reviewed October 9, 2026Roundtrip • Portland (PDX) - Hoedspruit (HDS)PDX - HDS • 3 stops HDS - PDX • 3 stops$5,701$4,707found 1 day agoper traveler - Ukanyi Luxury Villa - All Inclusive

"Everything was exceptional! The room was beautiful and clean, every single staff member was so friendly and helpful! The facilities were great, the food was delicious and the safari was just amazing! "
"The Blue Cottages are a great stay for those who want an authentic, simple, not luxurious African experience in a rondavel or one bedroom cottage. The restaurant serves good quality food till 4pm in an idyllic garden setting. The staff is very friendly. Great for those travelling through the area or considering a short stay, away from the touristic pre-organised tours."
"Great little place if you want to avoid some of the more exorbitant places in kruger. Saw the big 5 after a day and a half, plus cheetah, giraffe, hippo and plenty more. The 3 nights we stayed was plenty. "
"I should preface this review by saying that I am a professional wildlife photographer. I have stayed at dozens of safari lodges both, expensive high-end and ‘budget’ all over Southern and East Africa. The Cape Vulture Lodge, is exceptional! I simply cannot praise it enough. If you require accommodation in this part of South Africa, this is the place to stay! It is very close to the ‘Panorama Route Drive’ and the spectacular Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes, and a few large waterfalls....
"The top!!! Everything was more than perfect: The daily timing, The service level, very proactive and always with smiles, The food quality, excellently prepared and cooked, Amaizing facilities in a less amaizing location, The strong expertise of the guides and their way of life. Thanks to the invisible staff who makes invisible any default. Thanks to the management who makes all above possible. PS: the games were all an unforgetable experience and a flow of emotion. Can’t tell all we could see,...
