Niman House is a fishermans paradise, river front on the beautiful Juniata River

Breathtaking views of the Juniata River from inside the home or from the two exterior decks. Amazing bird watching opportunities with lots of waterfowl and resident eagles. Our getaway is located along a popular walking/biking road that dead ends at a historic Canal House but continues with a walking path along the Juniata River. This cozy retreat is situated 2 miles from the Arch Rock Road exit off Route 322. Within 1 mile to either the Midway Drive In Theater and flea market or the PA Fish Commission’s MIfflintown boat launch. Located 4 miles to MIfflintown which hosts many dining opportunities, pubs, retail stores and groceries. It’s a mere 7 miles to Lost Creek Golf Course and 8 miles to Port Royal Speedway. For the die hard Nittany Lions fans it’s 42 mile drive to Penn States Beaver Stadium. We have kayaks, rafts, floats and fishing equipment rentals available. (PM for details)

Great 2 night stay

We stayed for 2 nights while in the area touring Penn State University. We had a great time fishing and kayaking.

Perfect place for what we were looking for - right on the river. Great fishing nearby and place had all the amenities. Nice dock right below to launch from and tucked in a little bit - perfect for a weekend getaway.

Gorgeous Riverfront Home

I highly recommend this property! The home was extremely cozy, clean, comfortable, and stocked. We loved the views and the cabin decor. The hot tub and deck areas were perfect for relaxing outdoors. Can't wait to return!

Great weekend getaway with the Guys!

My wife gifted me with a weekend fishing trip with the guys for an early Father's Day. It was wonderful! The house, the location, the view, the amenities! We might just make this an annual thing. Great host!

Beautiful property. Relaxing just watching the river. We enjoyed the hot tub, fishing dock, and fully stocked kitchen. The owner was great at communicating everything we needed and it was nice checking in a bit earlier.

Perfect for us

Loved being on the river & having a hot tub.This place was perfect for my group of co-workers - we all had our own space, but still felt connected to each other by hanging in the hot tub. Beds were comfy - the street it on was cool.

Phenomenal river cabin

We were here for family business but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house had all the items you would need to feel at home! There was definitely a tremendous amount of thought and care put into it. We have added this to our places to stay whenever we head up for a PSU game! Highly recommend!

Penn State weekend

The property was clean and has all the amentities for a weekend trip. The weather was bitter and the property was warm and cozy. The hot tub is a plus. Ntime we visit it will be in the fall. If you like the outdoors, this is the place to be.

Fishing trip

Property was as described. Had an the amenities needed and everything was clean. Plenty of room for parking and the owners were more than friendly and accommodating to some requests, as well as providing some local insight into fishing holes and the better floats to do. Would definitely stay here again!

River Home

This home was lovely, very relaxing and quiet. It was everything we were looking for on our small get away. Very clean home with comfy beds. The house was equipped with everything one may need. We loved making smores at the fire pit and feeding the ducks at the pond. The host was great, and communication was on point. Very much recommend this home away from home :-)
