While there , we saw the African fish eagle and Black-and-white cascade hornbill, songbirds too many to count, along with some visiting Vervet monkeys. The staff were among the most attentive and friendly that we have experienced and...

Mount Meru Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The personal was serviceminded and ready to help you. The breakfast had a variety of international and local options. Both healthy food and the for the sweet tooth. The lunch buffet was excellent. In need of alternative options, there are a la carte restaurants as well. The gym had good machines for cardiovascular training and dumbells for weight lifting. Pool area was beautiful with a bar. In the hotel lobby you can buy beautiful dresses and other touristic items and Tanzaniaan gemstones."

Ilboru Safari Lodge - The Platinum Route Company Limited

10/10 Excellent

"A Charming Lodge with Wonderful Hospitality and a Personal Touch! I spent several days at Ilboru Safari Lodge at the beginning of my Tanzanian adventure, and it was a lovely introduction to the country. The lodge has a cozy, quaint atmosphere, with beautiful gardens and a peaceful pool area. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoons relaxing by the pool, reading, writing and enjoying a glass of wine. It was the perfect place to unwind after a long journey and ease into the rhythm of Tanzania. One of the things I particularly enjoyed was the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to meet interesting people. Evenings spent watching the sunset, sharing conversations over dinner and chatting around the fire were some of my favourite moments. A special mention to Alex, who took the time to sit and chat with me about Tanzania, its people and my interest in exploring beyond the usual tourist experiences. He was incredibly generous with his local knowledge and helped connect me with opportunities to learn more about the local community. Those conversations and connections added a whole other dimension to my time in Arusha. Ilboru isn't about flashy luxury. Its charm lies in its character, peaceful surroundings and genuine hospitality. It was a wonderful home base for the first part of my adventure. Asante sana to Alex and the Ilboru team for making my introduction to Tanzania so memorable!"
